I Really Like My Photos!
Feb 11 2009 12:27PM

...what a subject line! However, the same excitement I felt as a twelve-year old viewing my photographs still exists.

Here's a small selection from this past Saturday's wedding for Tara and Aram.

Enjoy!

Best regards,
Dan

My wife, Amy was looking over my shoulder
Dec 17 2008 9:06AM

Hello Long Island Wedding Brides!

This morning, as I was selecting photos for this blog, my wife Amy walked by, and started raving about how much she loves this photo of the flower girl from Alyson and Bruce's Fox Hollow Wedding. I love it too. Could she possibly look more precious? What you can't see in the photo for the web is the heart shaped pendant hanging from her neck that says, "Flower Girl." Kudos to Alyson for making even the tiny details wonderful. Anyway, my wife went on to strongly suggest I enter the photo in the PDN Top Knots New School of Wedding Photography Contest. The contest deadline was just extended to 12-19-2008, so maybe I'll submit another entry.

The second photos of the seating card with my name on it is another example of Alyson's attention to detail. I was so surprised to see my name on a seating card, that I actually believed there must be a guest with the same name as mine. It really tripped my trigger! The seating card has resided above my computer screen ever since, and still never fails to put a smile on my face.

The third photo is also from Alyson and Bruce's wedding. We created this shot during the reception. I always bring a few flash units that operate with a remote radio transmitter. This set-up allows me to create photos with unique lighting.

The remote light is back-lighting Alyson and Bruce for a neat silhouette effect. Alyson and Bruce are holding hands and kissing.

And now for the best part of today's blog. Yesterday I received the following e-mail from Alyson: "We just had a baby 3 weeks ago!! Aiden Louis Henry. We may need some professional pics of him!" Of course I will be thrilled to photographed the new family.

I would love to hear from the readers of this blog, so please feel free to leave comments to this blog.

Best regards,
Dan Wagner

Some of my favorites from 2008 Part 2
Dec 16 2008 7:24AM

Hello Long Island Wedding Brides!

Recently the patron saints of LIW, Ron and Liz, sent out e-mails to the vendors extolling the benefits of blogging. I had a bunch of photos, and a bag of words lying around and figured, what the heck, why not blog?

So without further ado, here's the second installment, in no particular order, of my collection of favorite wedding photos from 2008. Thank you to all the bride and grooms who made these photos possible.

Best regards,
Dan Wagner

Some of my favorites from 2008 Part 1
Dec 15 2008 9:47AM

Hello Long Island Wedding Brides!

How do I choose my favorites? Really It's impossible. Every wedding is unique. Each wedding produces over 1,000 photos, and selecting a few means I have to look at tens of thousands of photos. My criteria for these picks is based upon what might appeal to the PDN New School in Wedding Photography Contest. I had a winning entry last year, and I would love to repeat this miracle. The judges should announce the winners sometime in late January or early February. I want to thank the couples who hired me in 2008. Creating beautiful photos is a collaborative effort, and I truly appreciate all the months of work that go into making a wedding special. Okay, enough typing

Cielo and Scott's Nautical Nuptials...
Sep 21 2008 3:17PM

Wedding Ahoy! Argh, avast me harties, and shiver me timbers, this wedding was more fun than eating fish-n-chips in Davey Jones locker. Oops, I better knock of the pirate talk, because International Talk Like A Pirate Day was September 19, 2008, but, Cielo and Scott's wedding was yesterday, September 20, 2008. Which was a fantastic day to tie a nautical knot (sorry couldn't resist). The weather was perfect -- in the low 70's with a light breeze.

What a fun wedding! The day began at the Hilton Milennium Hotel in NYC. The ceremony took place at The Seaman's Church, followed by family photos on the roof, and culminating in a fabulous cruise around Manhattan aboard the La Romantica Yacht leaving from Southstreet Seaport.
