What hotels do you recommend for adults in Disney?
Or the surrounding areas? We are thinking of running to Disney after DH graduates. It coincides with our 1 year anniversary.

DH & I are partial to Disney's Boardwalk Resort. It's walking distance to Epcot & MGM. You have the boardwal for entertainment and there are some great restaurants in the Beach Club & Yacht Club that are right around a lake.

you can call and ask for their honeymoon package or anniversaryI know they have HM packages so those hotels must be geared somewhat for adults

I would have said the same thing. I stayed at the Beach Club with some friends a few years ago, and it was great being able to walk to Epcot. It also depends on what your budget is, some of the resorts are more expensive than others. The Grand Floridian is gorgeous, but expensive. I also happen to like the Lodge one (can't remeber the exact name). I miss Disney!!!

Hard to believe isn't it?
The Boardwalk Resort looks very cool. I'm going to try and price it.
I'm afraid of getting caught in a honeymoon trap. I don't want to get ripped off.

Re: What hotels do you recommend for adults in Disney?
I agree with Christine. The Boardwalk is great for adults since it is right by a ton a restaurants and bars. The Wilderness Lodge also very good because for some reason many families do not go there and it gets a ton of honeymooners and couples. As long as you stay away from the value resorts, the allstars or popcentury you should be fine. They cater mostly to families.
My favorite hotels though are:
The Polynesian
Port Orleans Riverside
The Wilderness Lodge
Animal Lodge
Boardwalk
We're going in 2 weeks and I can't wait!!! : ).

I was going to come back and recommend the Port Orleans Riverside Hotel. It's one of their moderates that is just lovely. They have a great pool bar and good restaurant in the lobby. There's also a lounge with the most fun piano singer - Bob Jackson I think. He really puts on a lively performance that is so much fun!!!!!!!

Wilderness Lodge is our #1 favorite (stayed there many times & got engaged there). Stayed at Yacht Club this past December and was not impressed.

I would second these two!!! They are awesome!!! I would also recommend getting tickets to Cirque De Soleil and eating at Gloria Estefan's restaurant at Pleasure Island while you are down there.. DH lived there for a little under a year, so on my visits, we would go to all the hot spots..

Re: What hotels do you recommend for adults in Disney?
For adults I would recommend The Polynesian. We have stayed there 5 times and it is our favorite of all the resorts. We just went to Disney for Thanksgiving and stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. While it was very nice and very busy, there were a lot and I mean a lot , of kids there. Also if our room was any indication it may be in need of some updating. It wasn't bad, just not up to what I have seen at some of the other resorts. I would recommend Port Orleans The French Quarter, but it is closed right now for complete renovations and I am not sure if it will be open again at the time that you go. They are redoing the entire resort and it is going to be gorgeous!!! We stayed there before too and you can take boats right to Downtown Disney same as you can from Riverside.
I have found the Polynesian, while more expensive, to be quieter and nicer for an adults only vacation. It is so romantic at night to walk out on the beach with the tiki torches lit. Plus you have the monorail right outside the hotel and launches they go directly to the Magic Kingdom. You will love it there!!
Have a great time!
Edited to add: Definitely go see Cirque de Soleil!! The show is totally awesome!! By some weird freak of nature I managed to get front row seats and on my!!! I will never ever forget it!!!

Re: What hotels do you recommend for adults in Disney?
I loved The Polynesian. Its very $$$ last time FH and I went we stayed in the all star music hotel. Let me just say that its cheap WE had so much fun. We didnt want to pay a lot of money cause we werent going to spend to much time at the hotel we wanted to spend most of the time at the parks. We payed $690.00 for 3 nights 4 days. Came with ultimate park hopper tickets. We could come and go to all the parks and Pleasure island as much as we wanted all day. We drove to FL. So we had our car but when we were in Disney we didnt use it once. We got on the bust that stops right in front of the hotel picks u up right in front of the park (if u park at disney you have to pay if u are guest at a hotel u get it free plus u have to park really far away and take a tram to the park) The bus came in really handy when we went to pleasure island cause we got trashed and DEFINETLY could not drive hehe. disney world website You can price your package here. Good luck with whatever you choose I love DIsney I WANT TO GO!
