Curious? Did anyone get Stiffed at their Wedding?

I am not a greedy person, but one of DH's friends came with a guest to our wedding and we did not receive even a card. I know proper etiquette says they have one year to give a present. But I dont believe in that. I just feel that is plain rude and I would never in a million years goto a wedding without a gift. What do you girls think?

It def is.. we got stiffed too.. I think it happens to alot of people..

We did too....it sucks, but you can't let it get to you....some people just don't know any better and have no class....(i mean, to not even give a card to wish you well?)

Be the bigger person...send a thank you card....

I sent a TY to one of my stiffers for coming and being part of our special day and it must have jogged their memory that they never gave anything, and whadda ya know???
2 weeks later and card and check came in the mail.....

Ya never know~

I realized it when doing my TY's, and I am very surprised, it is a freidn that I wen t to her wedding, and she came to my shower, gave me a great gift. I can't being myself to ask her, in case that I lost it, or that it was left on the table.

It happened to us too. I am still surprised, one of my cousins told my mom that she has to get us a gift. I mean, you knew about my wedding a year before, and we have been married for 4 mos. What is she waiting for??

Personally, I would not go to a wedding and give nothing. But I guess some people dont know any better. I will send them a TY for being with us on our wedding day.

we had at least 6 people stiff us. one was in the bridal party! hello???? so glad we got him a nice thank you gift, not.... we sent thank you's to family members or friends of our parent's that stiffed us. i think that was one couple and one older woman and they sent a gift after they got their card. but we didn't send thank you's to our friends that stiffed. if you're going to be cheap b@stard then so are we

Yes, we got stiffed 3x's. One of our friends said to my cousin that he thinks his date stole the card w/ the cash in it. 2 of my DH's groomsmen stiffed us too. How rude!!!

Yup us to- this guy handed us a blank card-nothing written in and nothing in it! I guess he thought we wouldn't figure it out but since he was the only one we did!

a few times...

the worst was a 'guest' came without the person who we invited!!!!

(she had a bad fall and required multiple constructive surgery - and it was a humid day...so it was hurting...I can understand)

but her DATE came alone!!!!

we too got stiffed.
2 couples and 1 single guy. one of the couples, drank MORE THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE of liquor. they actually signed the card that included 3 other couples, but we only got 3 checks in the card - nothing from them. but yet, we attended their BACKYARD wedding - even got a hotel room (it was in NJ) and we gave them a 'very generous gift'.
DH saw the guy recently and he didn't even mention it. would't you think to pop it in the mail right away, if you forgot to give it to us at wedding?

the other couple - no card, nothing. we attneded their wedding last year and gave them $ as well. the guy is a close friend of DH's - he actually sent DH an email saying that $ is tight right now and that he would send us something soon.

how embarressing - when we see these couples again, I just can't be so friendly. we don't need their gift - but i feel as if they just blew off our wedding, when DH would NEVER do something like that - it would keep me awake at night.

We got stiffed too...

It's seven months since the wedding and 3 of my BM's still haven't given us anything and some other guests as well.

One guest said they forgot to give us our gift at the wedding and said they were going to send it, but nothing yet.

I agree, there is no reason to come with out a gift! I was stiffed by a few guests. And I still havent received a gift. I wonder who made up the wedding etiquette anyway!
