Ladies, did you just get the letter in the mail re: sending cancelled checks, receipts, etc? B/c apparently they changed their accountant?

UHH yes I did and my bank doesnt give cancelled checks and no way a, I searching back to find them so they are going to have to live with the payment sheet

I would be so not happy about that. They should have records of payments right???
Why should you go out of your way to search for things to send them? You did your part and paid them!
I would be upset because I an unorganized and what if I couldnt find a receipt??

YES!!! Why wouldn't they have all that stuff... even if they are switching accountants?! My mom thinks they had a big computer problem and could have lost information... which I hope isn't true. We don't have cancelled checks but if worse comes to worse we can print out our bank statements. It's just annoying...

I have the little receipts they handed me because I usually paid in person and sometimes they noted it right on my contract. But I didn't get any letters from them. Strange. They shouldn't ask us to do that. They should keep their own records.

We had paid all in cash so I just have the receipts they gave us...it does sound very strange, just wanted to be sure everyone got the letter.
My FH just said maybe all the contracts got junked during the floods that time. I think they did store the contracts downstairs.....something to consider.....

I just got the letter in the mail yesterday.
Does sound like something like that happened. They are asking for all records of payment without saying they lost all records of payment. Anyway, I don't have the cancelled checks, but I have the signed contract and receipts so I'll send that along.

Ladies, I have to start calling hotels to block rooms for my OOT guests and for my wedding night for me and FH. Which hotel did you ladies go with? From my initial research, it looks like the closest hotels are the Holiday Inn Express in Hauppauge, Marriott Melville, Hilton in Huntington, and Best Western in Massapequa. Is there a hotel I'm missing? Any of these good or bad in your experience?

Hate to just barge in, but I just became part of this chat thing and think I have found the girls I am looking for! I am not booked yet, but I have looked and looked and I really love CLM. I fly into NY this Wednesday(I live in New Mexico) and am going to CLM's tasting that night If everything is fabulous, which I am sure it is, I'm a booking!!!
I am excited to see how your weddings turn out!!!
Best of luck to all of you, and hopefully I can learn a thing or two from you gals!

Are they reasonable? $$$ wise
I can't wait for the food tasting!! What is typical to wear for these things? Cash, business cash?? I am driving there right after my plane lands in JFK, so I need to dress accordingly in the morning.
