We're doing table names, too, but ours isn't a straight Halloween theme. It's a Venetian masked ball. So I'm trying to decide between names of canals in Venice, names of bridges, or names of famous places there. Any other suggestions?

ok i ran the mosnster name thing past fh and he thinks i am nuts - i think we should find pictures of all these monsters and use them as part of the table numbers like a pic of dracula and under it will say Dracula in some kind of odd vampy looking font -
do you think that is too much???

No way, that's not too much! That's exactly how I would do it, too. You can get really cool, artsy pictures of the monsters. I think it'd be so much fun!

That's what we're doing. I've been hunting through the internet for "artsy" pictures and I have some artistic ability, so if I can't find what I am picturing I am going to just draw them myself.

Surprisingly, everyone has been really excited about the idea on my side. Even my mom thinks it's cool!!

Our invitation font is called Black Chancery and it's kind of gothic-feeling, so I may just use that for the place cards and the table pics.

I think it's so fun and people will definitely remember it!!

Wow! That's a lot of monsters!!

Making them black and white or sketching them will definitely give them a more elegant feel.

Has your FH come around on it yet?

Can I ask you guys for an opinion on my invitations? (Horrifyingly, I haven't ordered them yet.) We're getting married at the hall, so we don't need a separate reception card--we're just going to do the "reception immediately following" thing at the bottom of the invite.

But since our reception has a theme (masked ball), should we say "Masked Ball Reception immediately following" or "Venetian Masked ball..."

Or do we just leave it at "reception immediately following"?

ETA: BTW, oakslady, I love that you have ringwraiths in your monster pics!

hi gals - to help with the invites we put costumed ball immediately following on the bottom - this way people knew to come in costume

i am getting fh to come around on the monster thing - with all the halloween decorations we are using i think it would fit in alot better than say the seven seas - you know?

glad you liked the monsters i will see what else i can dig up - LOL
