Re: December Brides

Sent out my out of state invites yesterday. Going to send out the rest tomorrow. Going to St. Lucia Grande St. Lucian. anyone ever been to St. Lucia?? Looks awesome. I didn't think I was going to get as excited as I am (for some strange reason) but I am. Just want it to get here already. The only thing left is my fiances gifts to the guys. Anyone got any ideas

Re: December Brides

Welcome We are all happy to see another December join us.
My FH too still has to get his guys gifts, but he already knows what he is doing. Hand rolled cigars, with a cigar holder case, and cigar cutter with their initials ingraved on it. All his friends smoke cigars when they hang, so he thought it would be perfect.

Re: December Brides

Mailed my invites on 9/25 - worried about them getting wet in the rains from Jeanne but I guess there's nothing I can do about that.

Getting so excited!!!

Re: December Brides

OMIGOD! I think the pressure is starting to get to me. I realized it was only 2 months away the other day and started getting nervous. Is anyone else starting to have little bickers with their FH?? He says I'm "blocking" and that I'm starting to get nervous. OH JEEZ!!! I started thinking "jeez, next month I gotta go for my fitting; I have an appt for my trial makeup and hair; gotta go to the florist. All in a months time away. Like I said prior, my FH just has to get his gifts and the boutinerres (sp?) and I want to set up a "tea party" for my girls to thank them. Other than that, think all is pretty much done! Started Ballroom dancing classes last monday. Not quite getting it yet. Maybe it is nerves!!! although it was our first night. Hopefully tonight will be better.

Re: December Brides

Ok, last nights dance class was worst than the first night! Man, I am so worried that we are going to look like total spaz brains on the dance floor the first time as H & W. Each day, my nervousness is growing!! Didn't think this was going to happen.
Hope everyone is doing well with their planning!!!

Re: December Brides

OMIGOD, if anyone DOES know the weather, let ME know! I think maybe I will look and see if I can find out on the internet. Something about the farmers almanac or something. If I find out, I'll be sure to post the site I find and let you all know.
Emotional isn't the word. NOW guess what happened?! Well, it's good but bad all the same: I got promoted at my job again ( THAT'S the good part-plus the fact that it's the 2nd time in 5 months!) BAD part: I'll be working 4:30pm-1AM. My FH works 8AM-5PM!!! SO, this means, I'll get to see my "husband" for a WHOLE week on our honeymoon and that's it! (Of course the weekends too but...........)Hopefully it won't be too bad and will hopefully only be for 6-8 months. Hey, need the money! I own a condo and would very much like to buy a house within the next 2 years!
Anyway, about the almanac (i was rambling!) I'll search it now and get back to everyone! Hopefully I'll find something!

Re: December Brides

my mother bought the almanac and it said there were flurries/snow showers (no storms) the first half of the month, then an unseadonably warm week the 16th-23rd (maybe she was exaggerating since my wedding is the 18th!) and then snow christmas time.

Re: December Brides

The pressure is sure building, day after day

I think everyone must ask me each day "So how many more days till the BIG ONE?" I am like "Don't remind me" I feel as if there isn't enough time, but yet I have been planning this wedding for 2 yrs now. It just seems as it all builds up for the last 2 months.

I just had my first fitting on Tuesday and all went well. They just had to take up the skirt to make it a little shorter so that it wasn't dragging. It looked beautiful, very happy with Macy's Bridal. Final fitting and pick up is scheduled for Nov 17th

My girls have been going for their fittings as well and I just LOVE their dress. They are wearing Bill Levkoff - Euro RED I love the red!!!!!

I booked my florist appointment and DJ to finalize things with them both towards the end of the month.

Invites have been out and so many responses already have come back. So far, only one decline I too, love running to the mailbox each day to check to see if I have any response cards. Isn't it so much fun?

One more night of Pre-Cana left. I meet with the church in Nov to finalize music for the Nuptial Mass we are having. I have the draft of my Program, will not print them till after we meet with the church on the music part.

I still need to find time to wrap all 70 favors. Ugh! Will probably get the girls together for that one to help out.

I booked my Hair & Make-up. Went with Robert James Spa in Miller Place. Love the salon and the girls are all so nice. Will go for a trial run in early Nov.

Fh & I are still trying to find a location for Rehersal Dinner. Look in Huntington Area, so any suggestions....we are open to them.

Ah... the list just seems to go on and on....
I hope everyone else is doing well. I am not on here as much, due to the time factor. I always feel as if I need to be doing something "Wedding" releated.... Keep in touch

Anne

Re: December Brides

I am all of a sudden getting nervous...OMG I'm really getting married!!!! For some reason it didn't seem real until I started getting responses back.

We're well on our way.

My first fitting is next week, most of the girls are all set.

Doing an engagement shoot on 10/25.

Meeting w/ Florist, reception hall and DJ first week in Nov to finalize plans.

Wrapping favors tonight (all the paper is premeasured and pre-cut) while watching yankee game.

Need to:
Set up bird seed packets
Finish Programs
Make Menus & Place Cards
Get Almonds and make packet to put on favor.
Order candles for tables.
Get a few more gifts - Parents & Readers.
The list goes on but nothing major.

Oh yeah - and pay for everything.

Re: December Brides

Tell me about it, everyday all I think about is how close we are getting to our time. Yikes! I just made my hair trial appointment today. My sister is planning the Bacholorette Party right now; probably getting limo, dinner in the city, and then going to comedy club "The Laugh Launge". Nothing to over the top, I like it that way. Tomorrow night is my last night of Pre-Cana. FH and I are going to eat dinner at Pomoderino's before going, because we are thinking of having RD there; but yet we never have eaten there. I hear great things, so we will try it for ourselves. I called my HM spot the other day to make sure the Bahama's are still standing after all those hurricanes this past season. Gosh, it is endless..... I hope everyone is doing well!
Hey Patti, did you have to have your menu all picked out before going to meet with Riviera?? They haven't even called me.... I guess I will call them to set up an appointment, but still....

Re: December Brides

I feel the same way, no stress but OMG OMG I'm getting married in a little over a month! Yippee!

Fiance was so funny, when we woke up on the day that was 40 days left he said , "OK we have 2 choices, we can build and ark or finish planning the wedding"

Had my first fitting this week, I LOVE my dress!!!!!!!!

Took our e-pics on Monday.

Responses trickeling in, choosing menus next week, and making the rounds to pay the vendors.

I can't wait!!!!!!

I'm going to do a major search for weather predictions this weekend but keep this in mind, for the 2 weeks prior I was watching the weather for Monday (e-pics outdoors at Old Westbury Gardens) it went from rain all day to sun all day to some sun, to possible showers to partly sunny. and temp predictions ranged from 45-75. Only 2 days before did they really get it right.

Happy planning!

Re: December Brides

Hi.
I'm not really on this site much. I too am a December bride. I am feeling totally overwhelmed! There is still so much to do! We have to pick our menu next week, pick up our rings (ordered from out of town), buy a few more gifts, confirm all vendors, finish making ornaments for favors, burn 250 CDs also as favors (1 wedding and 1 Christmas for each), make programs & menus, arrange seating and print placecards, have dress fittings -- first one in 2 weeks (BTW girls dresses are not in yet)..... There is not ONE THING that is done. I know it probably sounds like overkill to be having ornaments AND CDs for favors, but I will be putting a Christmas tree in the room where the reception will be. The ornaments will adorn the tree, and the CDs will be wrapped and placed under the tree. Oh yea, and one final thing: figure out a way to come up with the money that we will be short, mainly for the honeymoon.

Re: December Brides

Fh & I got a lot done this weekend. Where should I start:
1. Meet with Tommy Tunes to finalize our music

2. Went for Tuxes at Gino's Fashions. Very happy with the service and the Tux looked great. Here is a pic of the jacket

3. Finally found the perfect place for our Rehersal Dinner on the Day before wedding. We will be having it at Bertucci's in Melville on Rt 110.

4. Wrapped all 80 favors....ugh, never thought I would get done with those. Still have to add the personalized ribbon & Candy cane to the top of the box. We used candy cane gift wrap, looks great.

5. Finalized our Flowers with Butron's. I am going with an all RED ROSE Bo-k that will have some stephanona (sp?) in it that will have pearls in the center. It is a clunch Bo-k and will have lots of red silk ribbon streamers coming down and a touch of X-mas greens in it.
The girls will be carring clunch Bo-k's that are all WHITE roses with X-mas greens in it and they will have silk streamers too.
The GM will have white rose Boutoniers.
Got both Mom's roses, one with gold ribbon and one with silver to match their dresses.

What is to come for the week ahead:
1. meeting with preist on Wed night to go over the program for church.
2. getting FH's father fitted for tux
3. and everything else.... as the days go bye.

It is getting more fun with each day passing. Only 1 more month and DEC will be here girls!!!

Cheers to us and our planning
