Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

That's what I get for trying to save some money and ordering off ebay. The veil itself isn't so bad but upon further investigating the part where it is gathered and sewn to a piece of freakin velcro it looks like the seamstress was drunk! THe stitching is all uneven and when the veil is on my head you can totally see that it is velcroed to a comb.

Anyone have any solutions? Is it possible to attach the veil without a comb? Maybe using pins?? I want to wear my hair half-up and have the veil just above the clip.

Please help ladies...I'm really stressing over this!

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

If you hate it than get rid of it. If it would be ok other than the comb, then ask your hairdresser if they could use pins.

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

Nah, not expensive. I'd hate to fork out the money for a new one. The veil itself is beautiful...exactly what I wanted. But I just need to figure out how I'm going to wear it...0o

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

I'm sure your hairdresser will be able to figure something out. If you can, stop by to see her with the veil and ask if there's anything she can do.

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

what about even bringing it in to michaels or a craft store and seeing if the staff there have any ideas???

you should be able to disguise the velcro somehow with your hair maybe too, no??

See if you can decorate the veil near the comb with beads and hot glue or something, so it looks like you are wearing a clip.

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

I think this is totally a fixable problem... all you have to do is make sure your hair is covering the part where the stiching is uneven... no one will see that anyway.... and if it is so terrible then buy a comb and sew it on... nothing to stress over.... it will look fine... I am using my cousins veil and she had velcrow on it to attach it to her headpeice...I am not using the headpiece... so I am going to velcrow a comb to it to put in my hair... I was messing around with the veil myself, putting it in my hair...and I couldn't even see where the vecrow area was....
if you like the veil itself I would keep it...

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

can you bring it to the cleaners and have the seamstree there look at it? maybe clean it up a bit? Are you crafty that way- maybe you can fix it up. Sorry, I can't picture what it looks like- maybe if you take a pic and put up the part you are talking about we can make better suggestions

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

I agree. Bring it to a local seamstress and have her resew it to the comb. I know a great one in Seaford if you want the name and number. She has experience making wedding gowns and bridesmaid gowns, so I'm sure she could handle a veil.

Good luck!

Re: Edited post to say: I HATE MY VEIL!

Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera....I think I'll bring it to my hairdresser and see what she has to say. I've been playing around with it today and I think I might be able to hide it. If not, no big deal, I'll find something else...I was even thinking of sewing it to a clip....

Thanks everyone!
