Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

Help! My friend has just had a wedding gown catastrophe!!! She went to Bridal Couture for her first fitting on Saturday. Her beautiful dress that was imported from France has a big hole in the front. The owner was belligerent and unwilling to assist her. Her wedding is in August. We need a reliable boutique where she can go for a new gown!

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

She might be able to get something off the rack at RK Bridal. They have so many designers to choose from.

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

I am not sure of a boutique. But...I would not give up on these people. How did the hole get there? If it was in anyway their fault, they should get her a new dress or some money.

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

I would suggest buying off the rack. Otherwise she may not get it on time and have time for alterations. Try the Wedding Center in Commack--my FSIL got a great one there off the rack there, and they have samples in all sizes.

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

Tell her to try Lidia's in Copiague. They currently have a bunch of beautiful gowns on sale -- 25% off!! She can buy the samples!

That's awful by the way!! Good luck to her!

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

FYI the hold in the dress is big enough that you could put your finger through it. It is in the front center. Kind of looks like some one tried the dress on and the heel went through the gown. The people were not helpful at all with this situation. So she is going to go elsewhere. She is getting her money back.

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

go to the wedding salon of Manhasset- they are right down the street from Bridal Couture. My friend got a sample dress off the rack and it was great. They weren't even having a sample sale but they sold it to her because it fit her pefectly. She can go and explain her situation and ask if they have anything available!

So sorry this is happening to her- wish her good luck!

PS- I went to the Michelle Roth Sample sale last year. It's worth it if she is a size 4-8 (maybe 10). They have georgous dresses but it's hit or miss. She should get there really early if she wants to go.

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

First I would not let them get away with that. They are responsible for that dress and what they are going to tell you that they didn't see the hole there. They know that in situations like these you can call the manufacturer and they can make a new dress and rush deliver it to you and it is up to bridal couture to pay for the fees for the rushing of the dress. Do not let them get away with that

Re: Wedding Gown Crisis-Two months to go!

Myself and my MOH (her gown is from there also) are very happy with Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook. It's a small shop and they only deal with gowns (not tuxes, and everything else).

FM me if you want the address.

Good luck!

I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I got my dress at RK Bridal. They have a great selection and my dress came in 4 weeks. I bet they could do a rush order also.

I cannot believe that... You would hope that if a bridal shop made an error they would do anything they could to fix it...
