Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

I need a lot of support, and I really want to be lifted - and if you are big-chested you know how hard that can be. Esp if your gown requires some special kind of straps for your bra. Sooo....what is everyone doing? Any recs for a place to buy a really good, supportive bra that can be worn with a dress? Would a corset be a bad idea?

I got a good one at Bee's Lingerie in Great Neck
They tailored the bra to me - which was great!
They discount 10% off the marked price...

That's where I got mine. Except I didn't want lift -- I bought a minimizer, so I could flatten my 'torpedos' Bee's is great though -- they will work with you to find the best bra for you.

I bought a waist cincher and it really took inches off my waist. I got that at Lord & Taylor.

Re: Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

I didn't wear an all-in-one. Just the bra and the waist cincher and control top panty hose. (Not very sexy!)

I would say if you already have an all-in-one, the cincher would be too bulky. Its not thick, but I wouldn't wear it over something...

Re: Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

my bridal shop gave me an all in one ( braselette) to try on, but it wasn't exactly my size. She said I can bring one in or buy one from her, but I am worried they won't have my size when I go for my fitting.
Does anyone know of any store where they fit the bra/corsette to you, that are in Manhattan?

Oh okay that sounded like alot of sucking in to me!
too much elastic for me anyway!!
thanks and for everyone looking for a shop in manhattan
i like the town shop on bway in the 80's
i bought some stuff there before
they just eyeballed me and gave me exactly what i needed
a little pricier than bee's in great neck, but still a great place

I'm guessing cups since a bra might make you look bigger no? I'll have to see what the bridal people suggest!

Re: Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

Mary's corsetiere in Woodbury is wonderful. I got a bra there and they fit it to me. It wasnt expensive either. Just go as soon as they open cause they tend to have a wait.

Re: Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

When I went to the bridal stores they gave me a long line bra. I think I'm going to get that, it pushes you up (not to the chin, just where they are supposed to be ) and flattens your stomach.

There is a good bra store in Oceanside, Mary Lerners I think its called, in the TJ Max shopping center on Long Beach Road.

Re: Big-Bust Ladies: What Bra for the Wedding Day?

I'm a 36H.

Mary's in Woodbury didn't have anything in my size (I only found out after waiting for over 2 hours), so they sent me to Georgette's in Hicksville. They carried my size and had what I needed. I now get my everyday bras from Georgette's.
