I know I'm supposed to be posting this on the NWR board, but I'm so freaking pissed!
I gave my bosses notice (small business). They took a few days off and counted it as my vacation. I just asked if I get vacation pay and they said no, because I'm leaving. I've been here for like 9 years and they come to me with this crap. Thank God I'm leaving.I'd leave now, but have a wedding to pay for.

Oh hon, Im so sorry! That's really messed up! I can see if you were working there for a couple of months, but 9 years? That's just wrong!!

I know you said it is a small business....but do you have an employee handbook or anything that you might have signed way back when when you were first hired? If so, you might find that you actually are entitled to being paid for unused personal/vacation days...because honestly (and I am in HR), that is the norm...If not...then I would take a couple days off between the next couple of weeks since they owe it to you anyway!
And don't forget the revenge...unless of course you need their reference!

Thanks ladies. My revenge is my attitude problem and I haven't done any real work in like 2 days. I didn't sign a handbook, because it's like a mom and pop shop.I should be leaving here soon (praying tot God that I will get a good offer).
