I posted on Newlywed board but maybe someone here can also help

My wedding band won't come off my finger!

I have gained some weight - I think it's water weight because I was able to take it on and off up until yesterday.

So I'm drinking water (on my 2nd liter now) and I put lemon in it. I've tried soap, oil, lotion....and putting my hand in cold water doesn't seem to help.

Any other suggestions? It doesn't hurt but the skin under the ring is red and there's a deep impression where the ring sits now.

um.... butter? dish soap? run cold water over your hand, but not your ring finger.....maybe the colder temp will cause your finger to shrink just enough for it to come loose?

Good Luck!

Re: I posted on Newlywed board but maybe someone here can also help

I dunno
the water thing ain't helping me and i've drank 2 litres.

I guess I'll wait until cooler weather. I just don't want it to come to a jeweler having to clip it off...

thanks

Re: I posted on Newlywed board but maybe someone here can also help

Did you try lotion? Put lotion around the ring, hold your hand over your heart for a few minutes and then try it. Keep drinking the water and avoid salty foods until you can get the ring off.

DH read somewhere that windex will help get the ring off - but I just think of My Big Fat Greek Wedding when he says it....LOL

ETA - try not to play around with it too much so your finger doesn't swell from the pressure of pulling.
Good luck!
