Wingate Inn Garden City

Hello Ladies,

Just wondering if anyone has stayed at the Wingate Inn Garden City. Deciding if I should book them for my wedding since they have agreed to shuttle guests to the Fox Hollow.
I am planning from Westchester County, NY so haven't had a chance to visit the hotel yet.

TIA,
MelaniB

Re: Wingate Inn Garden City

It is a very beautiful hotel... There are closer hotels to the Fox Hollow that you may also want to look at.
The Melville Marriot
The Huntington Hilton
The Inn at Fox Hollow
Good Luck!

Re: Wingate Inn Garden City

My guests are staying there for my wedding. I am also staying in the bridal suite the night before my wedding with my bridesmaids so we can all get ready in the morning together. They are great to deal with. I spoke with Jessica, one of the managers there. She showed me several different types of rooms and the bridal suite. Although I haven't stayed there yet, I would definitely recommend them for just being so great to deal with before the wedding.

Re: Wingate Inn Garden City

Our guests are staying there as well as FH and I for the entire wedding weekend.

Not the most glamourous hotel- but big, nice rooms, with some nice amenities. Plus- affordable for everyone.

They are nice to deal with an accomodating.

Re: Wingate Inn Garden City

Our guests and DH and I stayed there on our wedding night. They have a reasonable rate, for Long Island standards, clean rooms which are a nice size, a small bar which they can keep open for you for after hours, and a wonderful staff. I highly recommend them. We used the shuttle service also and have no complaints!

This sounds great. I have spoken to Jessica...she has been very helpful. And nothing beats the fact that they will shuttle my guests to Fox Hollow.
My bridesmaids and I will be staying in the bridal suite the night before the wedding too.
Any idea how many people could fit into the bridal suite?
TIA,
Melani

Re: Wingate Inn Garden City

I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. I was satisfied. the rooms were OK, the staff was courteous. We actually booked the Huntington Hilton and the rooms were cheaper than what we paid at the Wingate. Plus the Hilton has a restaurant/bar. the wingate only has a little lounge.

I'm also planning from Westchester - but I did get a chance to see it. It was really nice. We booked that and the Garden City hotel. The suite wasn't that big (at least not the one I saw). I think it just had a king or queen and a pull out couch. Maybe you can request some cots. Not sure how many bridesmaids you have.

We ended up booking our room at the Garden City - we just got a regular supreme room - it was less expensive.

OK, Melani, as promised -

Wingate Inn was Great. We slept 7 in the bridal suite, NO PROBLEMS.

Great service, great people. Minor scuffles that were fixed promptly.
