Place to buy NICE, but NOT EXPENSIVE furniture on LI???
We need a nice place to get 'cheap' in PRICE furniture.. IKEA didn't have a table we liked, and the one at Fortunoff that we LOVE is like $2000, BEFORE each individual chair! AHHHHHHHHHHHHhhany suggestions?

I've had great customer service from Bare Boards in Bohemia, on Locust, just off Vet's Memorial Hwy. They are in one of the industrial buildings. They have mid-range furniture - below the Ethan Allen, Drexall Heritage range but above Ikea.

Pier One had some very nice stuff. We got our bedroom set there and saved a lot, between a sale and FH opening a card with them. We also had no problems with everything being delivered when it was supposed to be (unlike Levitz!)

Re: Place to buy NICE, but NOT EXPENSIVE furniture on LI???
I just bought a couch from Furniture Now on Rt 110 and had no problems. I was told All Wood Furniture is going out of business.I had my dining room set made for me by a guy in Copiague. You tell him the style, type of wood, etc and he makes it. I got a better quality set at a less expensive price from him than from any of the furniture stores (and I looked at all of them!)
