How soon before the wedding did you go for your first fitting?

The salon called me yesterday and my dress is in!! (i'm pretty excited because it came in a lot sooner than expected!) But i dont have my undergarments or my shoes - so i was just wondering how soon everyone did all this and went for their first fitting -

you should probably start in Nov- at least I was told to start in Feb, for an April wedding.

Same here. Six weeks before the wedding is about average for the first fitting.

you might want to start a little earlier than that just because of all the holidays

Also everyone says you should go check on the dress - just to make sure it is ok when it comes in

I went about five weeks before. I could have gone sooner though. But it should be ready on time without any problems.

I would go soon, some bridal salon close for a couple weeks during the holidays, MAKE SURE YOU ASK THEM IF THEY DO!!

I went for my first in JUly, just had my last fitting last week!! 2 weeks to the day, I will be a married woman!!

This post just inspiried me to call WSM to see when my Reem, that I ordered in March, would be in. AFTER THE NEW YEAR!!!

I picked up my veil today, and I dont think its going to match. Now I wont know until 2005... I want my dress

That is really odd that it is taking that long - although i think they may have put a rush on mine - i realized after i got the message that if i want to see my dress i am going to have to hand over the the balance of the dress - the

feeling is going to start setting in now that the weddign is so close
