Help - more halls to check for $15K budget

We want an October wedding, afternoon with about 120 - 130 guests. The ceremony has to be at the hall.

The budget is $15K for everything (except honeymoon).

We have not booked but so far have looked at these halls:

Fox Hollow - liked but quote for 2/19/06 and we now want 10/2005, can't get same price for 10/2005

Floral Terrace - liked but on a main road, FI did not like ceremony room

Milleridge Cottage - liked - FI thought it was not modern enough (they are renovating soon though). We peeked inside Milleridge Carriage house too but we have too many people and FI HATES tents so they are out.

Swan Club - too many weddings at once (3 on the day we went) and very confusing

Sandcastle - not our style

Chateau Briand - not our style and 3 weddings at once

Jericho Terrace - liked but with 120 we can't get the Dome Room

Russos - liked but FI thought it was too 'hollywood'

Coral House - too many weddings at once but we had a tasting and the food was good

Brentwood Country Club - kind of looked but we did not get to tour this place since there was a wedidng in progress. However, it's one wedding at a time - 100 minimum Sunday afternoon in October 2005 $8995 which includes EVERYTHING (invites, limos, DJ, photo, video, flowers & reception for 100 people). Add tax and 15% service charge. Additional guests are $55 each. House vendors are included in this package but if you choose not to use them, BCC gives credit i.e. $1,000 for photo if you do not use the house photographer.

Any other halls we should check?

ETA: I want an outdoor ceremony (for a dove release) and FI HATES tents so that knocks out a few places.

Also, we both live in Brooklyn so BCC (borderline of Suffolk) is a little over an hour for us with no traffic. We do not want to hike to far into Suffolk - but love that they have the cancellation law - all $ back except $100 if cancelled 181 days before date (over 6 months).

Check out the Riviera in Massapequa. I know their pricing was decent, especially if you have your wedding in Novemeber.

Try the Coral House, I live in Queens and it's not too far into LI. The pricing is pretty reasonable, I'm having a Sunday wedding though, but check it out..

What's the cancellation law?

The Suffolk County law says if there is a cancellation more than 6 months prior to the date (181 days), the deposit must be returned except for like $100 to cover office costs.

Try the Holiday Inn in Plainview. I went to a wedding there this past summer and it was wonderful! They have a similar package as the Brentwood CC and its in Nassau.

I called and e-mailed but nobody ever got back to me from the Holiday Inn. That's a bad sign.

No, not sure where the law is listed. The BM at Brentwood Country club told us about it.

Re: Help - more halls to check for $15K budget

Depending on how many guests you have you may be able to do Ariana Waterfall.

But since you live in Brooklyn, I would love to recommend a hall that I absolutely adore....Gennaro's. I feel in love with this hall. Only problem, well drawback for me, was that it is literally on the corner of my house. We opted not to have it there because of that and only that. Then I moved on to Ariana Waterfall and fell in love there.

But Gennaro's is great!!!

FYI the Holiday Inn in Plainview is literally 5 min from my job. Yes, it's in Nassau, right off the LIE (Exit #46) but it takes me about 40 minutes from Ozone Park to get here.

Katrina- Check out The Beach Club. Go to the website The Beach Club , select Affair Menus, scroll to the bottom, the last selection 'weekend package prices', this will give you the prices on the packages they have. The most expensive, which includes EVERYTHING you can imagine and more is $75 per person. Plus it's Queens, tax is less! And they only charge 15% gratuity.

It's worth checking it out. They have indoor or outdoor facility for ceremony there.

Re: Help - more halls to check for $15K budget

Check out Sans Souci... it's right up the road from the Swan Club. I am having a Sunday brunch reception for about 85 people. I think my total will come in around 5000 (w/ tax & tip). The place is beautiful and they only do one wedding at a time.

I also would recommend Stewart Manor. Also, try the New Hyde Park Inn. I can't think of any others right now. What about doing a brunch?
