PICS - We went to the Brentwood Country Club Showcase tonight
We liked Brentwood but the package needs a lot of upgrades to get the look we want. The flowers I like are $30 - $45 per table extra (15+ tables).
$30 per table for 1 1/2 dozen roses.
$45 per table for 2 dozen roses.
1 dozen roses is $15 extra.
The package includes mums.
The flowers on display were all silk but the actual wedding flowers will be real.
The limo's we want would be an extra $480 for a Rolls to take us to the Brooklyn Bridge for pics after the reception and an extra $100 or so to take the bridal party back to the hotel in a 12 passenger.
The package includes 2 six passanger limos which can take us to the hall. We would get married at the hall so no church waiting time involved.
We liked the food alot. FI went back for seconds of the seafood scampi. He did not like the pepperoni though - one of his favorite snacks. I guess it was a different brand?
I really liked the short ribs and pasta stations. The skirt steak (carving) was pretty good too. I did not try the turkey carving station though.
The DJ, Lou, did not play very long....under 20 minutes really. We did not have a party crowd at all so lots of people were sitting. Even we sat during the set since we were 30 minutes late and trying to sample the food.
The invite book is HUGE - great selection. They had samples of a lot of invites we have ordered. However, FI said he would like to get something made up if possible - just to be different. Not sure how that will go over though since I'm sure custom invites are expensive.
The set up was very nice - 10 tables with 10 guests at each. It was the package set up for 100 guests.
I thought the gazebo was very pretty. The flowers are beautiful even in this cold weather.
The carpets need a lot of work, probably replacement. FI is really into that stuff. They have at least 5 weddings on Fri - Sunday so the place gets tons of traffic so I can see why the carpets look worn.
All in all, FI likes Fox Hollow much better although I did not like the banquet manager there at all. He said Brentwood can stay on the list but only as the last option.
I really do not want to spend $25K - $30K on one day!!!!

Re: PICS - We went to the Brentwood Country Club Showcase tonight
It is a lot of money for one day. I think about that all the time since I have student loans that are on a 30 year payment plan.
It is only once and as FI says, we can't be cheap about it.
I thought Brentwood Country Club was fine and I like the package. Although, I do agree that we'd have to upgrade a few things. So I'm not so sure the package will work any better than the other places we looked after upgrades are added in.
For instance, BCC is $55pp additional for anyone over the 100 included guests - for 10/9/05 afternoon). That date is $8995 plus 15% service. After all the credits for photo/video etc are deducted, the BCC per person is $56.95 for the 100 guests.
Fox Hollow is $51pp (for 2/19/2006 afternoon).
We wanted a warm month since we both want to get married outside. We picked October since it is typically still warm but this year - it's kind of cold for October. Maybe we will try to go with September now - but that means more money unless we pick Labor Day.

Good Luck deciding. I understand you wanting to save money, we paid for 85% of our wedding so we were also price concious. Personally I don't like any of the centerpieces you posted. Could you save money by not getting them and then doing something non-floral instead?

The centerpieces are worth about $500 per BCC's credit. I was thinking the same thing, candles and rose petals would look nice in that room.

I booked at the Hobrook Country Club and am very pleased so far with everything. They have a package also, but I opted for my own vendors. Centerpieces are still included, but would be about $800 credit.

Re: PICS - We went to the Brentwood Country Club Showcase tonight
I think the carpet of petals and candles would look beautiful! I love that look and when the light go down everything twinkles
I don't know which BM you met with at Fox Hollow but if you want to FM me I can tell you all about the few I've delt with who were really helpful & those who were well...less helpful. After my first BM left I switched cause the replacement guy just wasnt our style.
ETA - Did FH tell you about the $10 credit towards CPs if you use the in house florist?

Re: PICS - We went to the Brentwood Country Club Showcase tonight
You are totally right--it may nto be a better deal than othe rplaces, once you upgrade things.
Some thing were thrown in with my hall but I changed them or didn't use them, but I didn't book it for the package, I booked it because I liked it. So, really work ot how much it will all cost, it may not be a big difference from a place you like better.

I've been to the BCC and I actually like it. The grounds are beautiful and I love the glass doors that lead to the balcony in the back. Its a great package deal in my opinion. Best of luck in your decision
