Re: Good Etiquette Web Sites??

Ok, try altavista for the particular scenario; wedding invitation, bride did not change name
etc. Loads will spring up.

Re: Good Etiquette Web Sites??

when in doubt, make it up

seriously, it can get crazy...i don't know about your crowd, but ours was/is totally laid back and etiquette/shmetiquette we were all just happy to be together!

i personally think old school etiquette is kind of lame and have adopted my own twist. but everyone has a different way of looking at things, just use common sense and you should be fine

Re: Good Etiquette Web Sites??

I agree with you totally-- I just want it to be formal, as the occasion dictates it to be.. Plus, I don't want to offend anyone.

I hate that old school adressing is totally misogynistic.. that really bothers me.

With Him not and her doctor you do :
Mr. Thomas Johnson
Doctor Mary Rhodes (or if married name then put here)
For two doctors it is
Doctors Mark and Tina Johnson
or
Doctor Mark Johnson
Doctor Mary Rhodes Johnson - both are Ok
Do you want the name of book 0 - it is called the book of wedding etiquette
kind of not worth the $$ given I foind most of this online

Re: Good Etiquette Web Sites??

thanks Deb-- the first thing you posted was what we were thinking.. so, I guess that works.. I think we all probably know enough to go with our guts on this.. But it helps to know what is appropriate.

eeeek! that one irks me, it may be 'proper' but i can't stand it

i improvised and believe i addressed to my BM:

Dr. FirstName Maiden-Lastame
Mr. FirstName Lastame

i don't know if it is considered proper, but i found it to suit my needs...

i wrote out all female first names and i know that isn't proper...
