Shopping for my UK wedding in New York

I'm coming to NY with my mum in early March. Please help me!

Which bridal dress shops are the best (my budget is around $3000)

Do I have to make appointments?

What about bridesmaid dresses? (My budget is around $250 each)

Any thoughts or ideas about what you would do please reply.

Thanks so much
Britishbride

Re: Shopping for my UK wedding in New York

Since your budget is slightly higher, you may want to check Kleinfelds in Brooklyn, and yes you need an appointment. If you're going to be in the city you should definitley chekc out RK Bridal for both wedding gown as well as bridesmaid dresses. I suggest you go on a weekday so you will get better service and feel less rushed. The bridal salons can get kind of crazy on the weekends. You may also want to check out the bridal building.

Re: Shopping for my UK wedding in New York

Definitely Kleinfeld. I got my dress there and can answer any questions you have.

Other places for you to check out:
Saks
Bridal Atelier

If you are interested in a particular designer, it is also great to go to their salons like Reem Acra or Amsale, etc. They have stuff there that you will not see in other salons that carry their designs.

ETA- you need appointments everywhere- even for bridesmaid dresses.

I got my bridesmaid dresses at Jenny Yoo www.jennyyoo.com. They are adorable and that was the budget I was working with as well.

Other BM dress places, Here Comes the Bridesmaid on W. 14th Street, and Kleinfeld just opened a Bridesmaids Loft in Manhattan. Check out their web site for details www.kleinfeldbridal.com.

Bridal boutique of manhasset.
Northern Blvd. Manhasset, NY (On Long Island)
I would look on the knot for designers and then figure out which dresses you like and where they are sold. That might narrow down your search. www.theknot.com
