anyone heard or considered moving to Saratoga Springs, New York

We hhave been looking up there for a couple of months. The houses are beautiful. The town is great, beautiful main street, family oriented.
Just wanted to get some feedback.

Great area - great people there!
I used to work in the Wilton Mall in Saratoga, and I loved the people who used to come in and shop!
And there are so many things to do in that area!
And...it's affordable!!!

Such a agreat place to live!

I have a friend who lived up there and whose family still lives up there. It is very beautiful and I think the schools are pretty good too. I went up a lot during college time, but they have great restaurants, bars, and events going on. I love visiting up there... I guess its good to live there... you are close to Albany so there has to be jobs nearby. It is my favorite upstate NY place.

My SIL & BIL built a house up there a couple of years ago and they love it. For me it is too cold & a bit too far from family (5 hours from LI).

I went to a conference there in Nov and loved it. The downtown area is so nice. DH and I were thinking about the Albany area but decided to stay near my family. But it's a great place to live. So much to do, a cool music scene, lots of outdoors things to do all year too.

I worked there for 4 summers at Skidmore. It's a great area. Only thing that made me rethink moving up there is the cold and snow--Albany gets A LOT more snow that LI.

Saratoga is a gorgeous little town .. and there are lots of beautiful homes there .. Saratoga Lake is also very pretty.

Just keep in mind .. summers in Saratoga get very crowded .. because of the horse racing .. that's what Saratoga is known for .. it's summer of horse racing.

Not only do you have A LOT of tourists, there are a lot of people that need to move there for that time period, so there are many people renting from homeowners willing to put their house or apartment or condo on the market, which can be very lucrative.

Just something to keep in mind.

I went to a library conference there a few years ago. Pretty downtown area, but really too cold for my taste.
