Brooklyn Brides...

Any suggestions for a place to have a bridal shower? We've already checked:

Marina Cafe (not available)
Greenhouse Cafe (not available)
Bay Ridge Manor (really, really dislike the place)
Rex Manor (again, not so thrilled)

Still going to call Michael's.

Help, we need something inexpensive (having it at someone's home is not an option).

Thanks in advance.

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

I had my engagement party at Sirico's on 13th ave...it is a typical catering hall but the food is really good, the prices are low and the skylight room is pretty - it may be a little big for a sower though.
Also, Gargiulos...my cousins shower was there just a few weeks ago. The room was pretty and the food VERY good...might be pricey though.

Good luck!

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

We had my sister's shower at Henry Grattan's located at on 88th and 3rd avenue in the Ridge. It was really nice. I was going to also suggest Greenhouse Cafe on but I see that it was not available. My shower was at Chadwick's and was amazing, but I know its pricey$$. I also went to a shower at New Corner's on 8th Ave and 72nd St. It was nice and the food was good(italian restaurant).

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

How many people are you having?

I threw a shower for my friend at Magnolias in Park Slope. We had 50 guests and they gave us the whole restaurant for brunch.

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

I had my shower at La Sorrentina Restaurant. They have a private room and all my guests raved about the food.

I've also had brunch at Magnolia, its a really cute place.

Magnolia's is on my corner! the food is great (Ieat there fairly often) and they are really pretty good with parties. I had a dinner party for my brother there when he ended his first tour in Iraq and they were GREAT.

Brunch is great there too for a shower. Good luck.

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

You can try Chianti on the corner of 86th and 3rd. I live right down the block from there and I always see baby/bridal showers there on the weekends. Friends of mine have said the food is really good too.

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

Chiant's has excellent food, and it looks as if they have a large space available along 86th Street. I live a block away and have eaten there several times, it's reasonable and consistently good.

You can always approach other restaurants along 3rd Avenue, some of them may be willing to close the restaurant for your party.

Re: Brooklyn Brides...

Mine was at Concettas on Ave X and McDonald Ave. I think they have really good prices and 2 pvt rooms. The food is good and they will include wine and soda, apps, pasta, entree and coffee.
