PLEASE HELP MAKE THIS BOARD EASY....

Could we make a pact or something, that when you name/refer a Vendor on the boards, to include their contact information and what they quoted you? I'd really appreciate it!

It will make life easier for those on a VERY strict budget (like myself.)

I've also put up a Vendor Information Page, with this information, and I know it's a lot to type, so I don't expect a large response, but when putting your info.....pllllleeeeeaseeeeeeeeee! TIA

Including contact info is a great idea, however, some may not feel so comfortable including their prices.

It's kind of an inconvenience to look up a vendors phone to post it number every time you mention them. Its easy though to FM the person for the info if you are interested. Just a thought.

I think if you want specific info, you should FM, a phone # is great, but not always convenient.

I remember sometime last year there was a lot of drama regarding brides sharing quotes with other brides. The new bride ended up going to the same vendor but getting quoted a higher price and mentioned an LIW bride's screenname. The vendor ended up calling her out on it and causing a whole lotta drama on the boards. I guess that's why girls are hesitant to share.

if you are interested in a vendor that you read about here, just google them!! you can also look on this very site in the vendor section.

While this site is helpful and we are all here to help, this is not the end all of wedding planning. This is where I would come for some advice, to vent or to share. Referrals are great but keep them to Fms when quoting. Also everybody's deal has different circumstances. If the vendors wanted their rates quoted online, they would be on their webpage. There have been lots of occasions where I called a vendor to ask them if they could accomodate a budget of $X. That's how I booked my venue originally. If you really can't find the number yourself, then ask. Most of the vendors on these boards are listed. These board are not directory assistance. I'm also pretty sure that if LIW weddings thought it was appropriate, Ron and Liz et al.. would compile a whole list of vendors, their numbers and their rates. I'm sorry if this sounds b*tchy.

i agree with the contact information but i don't think that alot of people will go for quoting the price they got unless they feel comfortable about it.

I agree with this. Not everyone is comfortable posting how much they are spending on a particular vendor. I definitely understand your position though--it's really annoying to have to trek out to vendors only to find out that they're not really what you're looking for.
