Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
What do you all think? So long as you feel comfortable posting this info. I think it would be helpful to put price quotes that we have received for 2007 and what they are offering for that price. I'll go first- I have only been to Floral Terrace so far, but here is the info that they told me:-They said that it would be cheaper to book for 2006 now than for 2007 because 2007 is still a 1 year and half away. I was quoted for
Sat night, Oct,2006- $145
Sat night, Nov,2006-$130 (went down from $135)
Sat night, June,2007-$160
This included basically everything. Full Seafood, Viennese, you name it. As I go looking I'll let you know more info. HTH.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
Hi I just wanted to add some of my experiences with the places I’ve visited for our 05/06/07 wedding (Sunday Evening) for 200 guests. Hope it helps, please don’t take any offense to any of my comments:Roslyn Claremont Hotel:
-Roslyn, NY
-101/pp
-Had a very old and classic feeling in it, the cocktail and reception room are on the lower level, so they have no outside views. If you’re claustrophobic this probably isn’t the best place for you
-Charged extra for valet….coat check
-1 wedding@ a time
Areca:
-Plainview, NY
-DON’T BOOK THIS PLACE!!!!!!
-I fell in love with this place, visited them 3x….2x to see the place w/ and w/o the wedding setup and the 3rd time to show my parents…so I called them so that we can sign the contract….I left Mike the BM NUMEROUS MSGS to please call me, I was practically begging him to take my $$$….but he NEVER ONCE returned any of my phone calls! HOW RUDE!!!!!!! I’m sooo mad at this place!
Bridgeview Yacht Club:
-Island Park, NY
-85/pp
-Waterview
-The room is really a outside tent but it doesn’t feel like one..
-Nice, but wasn’t as contemporary as I’d wanted it to be
-1 wedding@ a time
Woodbury Country Club
-Woodbury, NY
-80/pp
-BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR garden for pics!!!!!!
-Classic feeling
- 2 weddings @ a time
Jericho Terrace
-Mineola, NY
-99/pp (NO NEGOTIATION, the BM actually told me that!!!)
-VERY limited outdoor pics
-I didn’t like the way the BM pitched me the place, he talked to us like we were just $$$ to him, he memorized and read off his menu selections (like we were sooo impressed) and the place just felt too commercialized….he was rushing everything….didnt like it
-2 weddings @ a time
Chateau La mer:
-Lindenhurst, NY
-72/pp
-waterview
-Possible yacht entrance for bride and groom (weather providing)
-1 wedding @ a time
And our FINAL choice:
Crescent Beach Club:
-Bayville, NY
-95/pp
-On the beach facility
-Great sunset pics!
Feel free to FM me with any comments/questions…..

Thanks Jenny- that was very helpful. I'm going back on Wed. to see Marina Del Rey. When I went yesterday there was too much going on so we decided to go back in the middle of the week. On Thurs. I'm going to Russo's so I'll post the info.

Hi ...was just reading some of the other boards...Just wanted to let you know that Chateau La Mer can have two weddings at a time (downstairs and upstairs room) unless there is something in your contract stating otherwise. There are four weddings there the day we get married...still LOVE the place.Good Luck with your searches and congrats!

Hi ladies...well I went to Marina Del Rey tonight and spoke w/ Joseph the banquet manager. He was really nice and sooo helpful. The banquet manager's you deal w/ also run your party the day of.
Sat, 2006 (oct 7th, 2006)- $182
Sat 2007- april- oct....$182 (includes tax & gratuity and all the other stuff)
-Basically no negotiation, the BM told me that the owner doesn't allow them to give a big break...maybe $5 off...but nothing making a big difference.
The entire party is 6 1/2 hours.
1 1/2 for cocktail
Viennese Hour and the whole sha bang.
The place is amazing and beautiful...they are adding a waterfall on the side when you enter and putting a big chandelier as car's pull up right by the door. To be honest with you, I wasn't too crazy about the rooms, which upset me because the rest of the place was drop dead gorgeous...I'm not saying it wasn't nice, but there was something that just didn't make me jump.
We're going to Russo's next week, so I'll let you know how that goes.

I can shed some light on Russos. Parties are great, food is great, but it is very expensive. For a Friday night, I believe its 95 to start, not including tax/gratuity/specials, Sat nites 125 and Sun nite 105....Hope I culd help some!

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
WOW I guess everyone in DH's family is on Frank Russo's good side b/c we have 3 weddings at Russos in the next year and they are paying ALOT lessThe one who is getting married next month is paying the most. Not positive how much but it was alot and she has a 275 person Min.
I know for a fact DH's cousin booked for Sept 06 ( Friday night) and is paying $115 a plate and getting a TUN of extras.
DH's other cousin is getting married April 2007 ( either friday or sunday night) and are paying around $130-$150 a plate and TUNS of extras as well.
They had quoted us $90 p/p plus tax and tip for a sunday night in Feb but that included Vienesse and something else ( maybe the seafood station at the CH but I am not positive)

I booked at East Wind Estate Friday night April 27, 2007. They quoted it at $89.95 plus tax/gratuity....but they are pretty negotiable.

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
UPDATE:We went to El Caribe tonight. They have food beyond food. The rooms were nice. Basically we got a price and it was 162 per person and w/ all the taxes/gratuity/valet parking etc it pretty much comes out to $200 a plate. This included the full seafood/vienesse- you name it...everything. Martini fountain/ frozen cocktail...hanging lobsters, etc. Also, this was for Sat. night in Jun 2007.
To be honest w/ you, I didn't like the location and the fact that when guests enter it reminded me of a parking lot at a super market. They also have a gym next to them...which makes it less elegant IMO. (I'm pretty sure they own it) They told me and my FI that they 'may' be remodeling and put an outdoor location for pictures. Hopefully, we get a chance to go to Russo's tomorrow. But it looks as though we may probably end up booking there- we will see. I just wanna book a hall and move on to step 2!

Re: Hey Ladies...Let's post reception halls and there prices for 07 as we go on our search?
My boss got married at Russos and she says she loved it. She also went to a wedding at El Caribe and she it didnt compare to Russos.I guess we got quoted a lil less bc I'm related to Frank Russo..But I do know they are expens!!!!!! Also, you have to add everything in,tax, gratuity, vienese, russos 'special touches'. It will prob be close to $200 pp
