Im new here, need help with halls
Hi everyone, i am new here. Me and my boyfriend are trying to plan our wedding in the next 2 months. I know its a short time, but we just decided to do it. We have a limited budget and were looking into some inexpensive places that are available for Sept. 05. So far we have found these that are available and in our price range. Has anyone been to a wedding or event at Verdis of westbury and Antuns of hicksville. Please let us know of your experiences with these places. Thank alot and Congratulations to all Brides.

Re: Im new here, need help with halls
I am also a newbie
Have you checked with Westbury Manor? They had very reasonable prices for Fridays and Sundays (Saturdays were pricier) and they even are one of the few places that has a smaller room without a huge minimum attached. My FI and I fell in love with it and booked in on the spot after being frustrated by the lack of sites that would cater to a smaller wedding. Actually...I don't even know if your wedding is small or not...oops.

Re: Im new here, need help with halls
You should be able to get a pretty great deal wherever you look if the room is available. Because your date is so close they will most likely not get any other offers for that date at this short notice, so use that as a negotiating price tool.

Re: Im new here, need help with halls
I'm sure you can find a hall that still has an opening. You might even get a better deal because you are filling in a spot they have open at a short notice.
However I think the other vendors might be difficult in such a short amount of time. Wow! You have a lot of work to do! Good luck!

You may fall in the cracks of Westbury Manor. They have a small room (90 minimum) that they say can hold up to 160 but honestly I wouldn't go over 120 and a larger room (200 minimum) up to about 400. Although you may be able to play around with their minimums because your wedding is so close. You may actually end up getting a lot of deals. I was just there last week to book my room and both rooms had a couple dates open in September. For a Sunday night wedding the price was the cheapest at $75pp
Maureen is my BM and she is so sweet and helpful.Good Luck!!! Isn't it amazing how expensive places are? At least at 150 you meet most sites minimums. That was my biggest problem with having 80 people.

Re: Im new here, need help with halls
You can check out the Meditteranean manor in East Patchogue, they are very reasonably priced. I'm working with George, they might have some dates still avail. They also do a special for booking in 3 months or less. You can let him know that Nadia 8/5/06 recommended you....let me know how it goes!!! Good luck!!!!
I would also suggest checking other places too, anywhere because you want it sooo soon you have the advantage of noone else might book it so they will probably give you a deal.

Re: Im new here, need help with halls
the ladies are right. I would call everywhere, find out the average price, and then ask them to cut it- then you go down by another 10%. if it's open, they are going to want your business. you'll probably end up with a much cheaper wedding than most of us, with the same stuff.i wouldn't worry about vendors too much either...everyone makes a big deal about booking, but there are plenty to go around. good luck!

Def applaud you for planning your wedding in such a short amount of time, kudos to you!!! I don't know anything about the 2 halls you mentioned but what the other girls said was right, you'll def get deals if a vendor has your date open. Good luck to you!!!

I checked them out too, very nice and extremely reasonable. My friend got married there last year and loved it, she had no complaints. Definitely take a look over there. Verdi's is also nice and reasonable, that was the first place we looked.

Don't know about availabilty, but the Riviera size-wise would work for you. Their prices are reasonable and if you go with what they offer, your food, cake and table flowers are all done in one shot! The BMs there are really nice and helpful.Good luck, congrats, and wow, I wish I could have done it that fast!
