also was there anything you needed inthe hospital that you wish you had.. myabe then i could add that in her bag!@

Re: question for all you mommies out there..

Considering the bleeding, I didn't even consider putting on my own clothing while in the hospital. (The hospital even supplies underwear, which I changed every time I went to the bathroom) Are you getting her the outfit she'll go home in? If so, she'll need the size she wore when she was about 30 weeks pregnant. She'll still have a preggo looking belly when she goes home, just smaller. I wore maternity pants home.

I was pretty well prepared and had a full bag. I didn't use much but I was very very glad that we had snacks so that my hubby didn't have to leave the room when he was hungry.

Re: question for all you mommies out there..

I had lost so much weight before I even left the hospital I definatly couldnt wear my clothes home, but I had to ( I had nothing else with me) and I just held my pants up. I agree about 30 weeks or so.

Re: question for all you mommies out there..

I would include the underwear. My hospital didn't provide the mesh underwear that some do.

ETA: Things I used/wished I had when on maternity ward:

* A towel
* A confortable pillow with a colorful pillowcase (so it stands out from the hosptial pillows)
* I read a trashy novel the first night I was in my room - I couldn't sleep and wasn't in the mood for tv.
* Shampoo, conditioner, body wash & sponge which I just threw out when I was leaving
* Shower shoes
* I loved my slipper sox
* Thin overnight pads - the hospital ones are huge and were really uncomfortable to me since I use tampons usually
* Brush, hairclips and ponytail holders
* Toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash
* Wished I had a journal (and pen) to record down some of my & DH's thoughts and feelings shortly after birth as well as what our family members were feeling when they met her the first time.
* I gave each Grandma a brag book from the baby when they came to see her for the first time. I wish I'd thought to give them each a disposable camera to use to take pics with, my mom was so excited she forgot her camera and MIL didn't realize she needed to charge the battery on her new digi camera so neither one has pictures from the first time they met her other than the few DH thought to take at the end of their visit.

HTH!
