Pet peeve (one of them)

Maybe I'm just cranky today, but I can not STAND when people don't say the -ing at the end of a word. My officemate does this ALL of the time.
Instead of deleting, he says deletin
Instead of eating, he says eatin

You get it.

It's like nails on a chalkboard.

Re: Pet peeve (one of them)

I'm from Brooklyn, so I understand this COMPLETELY!

What's even better is pronouncing 'Butter' like 'Butta'....'Soda' like 'Soder'

However, you can't change folks...so try not to let it get so under your skin!

Cheer Up - HOLIDAY WEEKEND!!!!!

Re: Pet peeve (one of them)

It may be a NY dialect. I drop my 'r's sometimes and put them in where they don't belong.

I'm usually very laid back, but I had a weekend. Read my previous post about taking FH to ER.

I'm much better now that I'm getting my LIW fix.

Re: Pet peeve (one of them)

I know exactly what you mean, it really bothers me too! But I'm guilty of not pronouncing 'ask' correctly, I have a bad habit of saying it like 'ax'. I just can't help it!!
