Re: wedding cake??

go with what you want. you'll never please everyone - there are people who don't like certain fruit, there are some who don't like chocolate, etc - so i say go with what YOU want. if some guests don't like it, they don't have to eat it.

Re: wedding cake??

You could do alternate layers. One chocolate the other yellow. And then get a sheet cake for the flavor that was used the least. That way there is plenty.

Re: wedding cake??

I got chocolate mousse with marble cake and whipped cream frosting it was SO good!

for the dessert we chose peach melba. which is vanilla ice cream with peaches and whipped cream.

so we had both chocolate and some kind of fruit as dessert options.

Re: wedding cake??

We had one tier of chocolate cake and cherry filling, one tier of vanilla cake and cannoli filling and one tier of vanilla cake and chocolate cream filling (I know there are four layers in the pic...I'm not sure what they did with the top tier). You can do both vanilla and chocolate cake.

Re: wedding cake??

they may prefer other flavors but i've never seen anyone turn down chocolate cake (unless they're allergic to it). if you and your FH love chocolate, go for it.

Re: wedding cake??

I say go for the chocolate cake! I'd venture a guess to say that your guests will love it. They're probably expecting yellow cake w/ fruit filling. This will be a nice surprise for them.

Re: wedding cake??

Honestly, I don't like -especially anything with fruit filling. If I could I would have an ice cream cake. I say go for the chocolate cake. Who doesn't like chocolate and after all, it is your wedding and it's supposed to reflect your taste.

Re: wedding cake??

We're doing chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry fillings. Should be a nice surprise for everyone expecting the usual yellow cake with fruit!

Re: wedding cake??

I say choccolate, chocolate!! I m biased though because I love chocolate!!
I would go for what you like, you can never please everyone.. so please yourself!!

Im using the cake that comes with the hall, im not sure if chocolate filling is an option, but I will definately pick it if it is.

Re: wedding cake??

I wanted Chocolate cake, because I'm a total chocoholic, but I wanted a chocolate mousse dessert, so I compromised. I was supposed to have a marble cake with cappucino filling, but it ended up being Yellow. Still it worked out, and I had an amazing Chocolate Mousse dessert (with an amazing piece of chocolate printed with music notes on it - INCREDIBLE!!!!).

Get what you like, who cares if 10 people don't like chocolate, they wont eat it. It's not their wedding cake, they dont have to eat it.
