Re: Nassau County school districts..
anything on the north shore is excellent. Jericho I believe is the best SD on LI. I wuld say that the majority of the SD's on LI are great! But I personally would not be interested in properties in Uniondale, Hempstead, Roosavelt

Re: Nassau County school districts..
check out newsday.com they list school districts with math, reading scores..class sizes, money spent on the students and graduation rates. Also, the students that go on to college. Keep in mind what these stats don't include-Extra curricular activities, sports programs, music programs and advanced placement class availablilities.
We are in the Bethpage school district and have found it's excellent.

I'd like to add Bellmore - besides their football incident - they have pretty good schools - IMO. But I grew up there, so I'm biased.

My ex-boss moved to Jericho for the school districts and she's very picky. I don't know much besides that though.

IMO, Farmingdale is a 5 or 6 out of 10. If I lived in Farmingdale, I dont think I would send my kids to the public schools. Thats just my personal preference and opinion. Plainedge on the other hand, is a very good district. The only problem with them is their budget. If you remember, the community had to raise funds for the district to have high school sports due to athletics being cut from the budget. Otherwise a nice district!

That was Plainedge, not farmingdale. The budget passed in Farmingdale. and Plainedge only cut JV sports, not varsity sports.
I went to Farmingdale as did my parents. It is an excellent school district. They have great sports and music programs.

Re: Nassau County school districts..
Yes, Plainedge cut JV Sports, and if it werent for the community raising funds, Varsity Sports would have been cut too! Plainedge is still a good district, IMO much better than Farmingdale.

Re: Nassau County school districts..
I went to Farmingdale and turned out ok!
ETA: just curious on why you only give them a 5 or 6 out of 10. The school has a great sports and music department, AP and College classes in the high school. I know people who went to Catholic School and ended up leaving to come to Farmingdale and were way behind in their studies.
