What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I'm thinking about changing my date to save money and I can save the most money if I have it on Friday or Sunday. So far I'm leaning more towards Friday. I've added a poll to see how many people are doing what day!

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I love Friday night weddings! People are ready to party on friday nights, it starts off the weekend, & people are off Saturday. Some people may miss your ceremony, depending on the time it starts & work schedules.I always see a lot of people leave Sunday night weddings early b/c of work the next day.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I am having a Sunday night wedding.I had a choice between a Sunday in July or a Friday in August. I went for the July date even though it was a Sunday. People may leave early, but it's cool w/ me. I have seen people leave early at a Friday/Saturday wedding too s o there is no guarantee.
If you choose Sunday have a reception that starts earlier. I am doing 6:30-11:30.

We are having a Sunday wedding too. From 6 to 11:00. Once people are there and the wedding starts know body knows what day it is. I have been to a lot of sunday weddings and it feels just like a saturday night wedding. Never been to a friday wedding.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
e're doing a Sunday wedding. Friday is cool and all, but if people go, they will most likely not be able to take off of work, and quite possibly have to rush a bit to make the CH. We chose Sunday. The price was great, and that made us very happy. I'd also like to know what constitutes a 'nicer wedding'. Your day is what you make of it. Good Luck

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I'm having mine on a saturday night. I didn't want to inconvenience people and I wanted them to be free to party party party. We never even considered friday night, one because it's shabbat, but two because it's hard when you're coming from work something. I just feel like everything would be so rushed and everyone would be tired after a long week at work, plus it makes people have to take off more weekday time to travel...i prefer sunday out of the two just because you have the whole day, no one has to rush from work, etc

I'm having mine on a Sunday 5/27/07 from 7pm-12:30am. The sunday before Memorial Day so everyone will be off from work that monday and it makes it easy for our out of town guests because they have a 3 day weekend.

This is why we're doing friday night. On the one hand it's elegant to me. On sunday you can't have a night wedding unless it's a holiday the next day. People can party and most won't need to work the next day. We're saving at least 1K by doing it this way.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I'm having a Sunday evening wedding..but its the Sunday before a holiday but I still got a good rate on my hall.ETA: I've been to a Friday wedding and I had to take off from work because the ceremony started at 5 and I get off work at 5 then to get ready to go I would not be able to make the CH

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
Ours is on Saturday night. We didn't want any other day/time so we were flexible on the month.I like attending weddings on any day. If it's a Sunday, I take Monday off. If it's a Friday, I take Friday off.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
Ours is a Friday night. I would have rather chose Saturday night but because of price we chose Friday. I could have chose a Saturday night at a cheaper hall but I really wanted the carltun. I think there are drawbacks to both Friday and Sunday.. Friday.. obviously most people work so people may skip your ceremony or be a little rushed.. but most people don't work the next day which is good. Sunday.. most people are off so you can start your wedding earlier, but most people have to work Mondays. So I think it just depends on your preference... to me Friday seemed easier, but I think Sunday would be just as fine. (I think they are comparable as far as price goes)
