Taken from 05 board--what are you getting FH/DH for valentines day?

I saw this post and thought it was a good idea. I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't know either....especially since his birthday is 10 days after Valentine's!!

My poor FH! He has Christmas, then my Birthday, then Valentine's day to buy me gifts! Once each month!

We are going to do a quiet dinner at home...FH's birthday is 13 days before...Plus the wedding is so close, no extra $$ laying around!

Hmmm, I hadn't thought about it. I know that we are both taking the day off from work. I think we'll just spend it together and have dinner but probably will tell FH no gifts, well just a few chocolates. :)

my friends and i decided to plan a day with our fh/dhs and surprise them, at first we planned on taking a limo to the wineries, i was excited, but one girl didnt want to anymore....so we are going to to NYC to eat at carmines and then to a comedy shwo- they should love it and we will all be together!
the girls are paying... and i will probably get him another little something to open... and a card- the most important part

We both like gifts when we do something - some activity so I know he will love this.

we are doing it ebfore v-day though cause for v-day we ALWAYS eat at the same sushi place- tradition

** idea for you- last year I got us a couples massage- he was iffy about it at first BUT loved it so much i the end, for his birthday i then had to get him another plus a facial dont tell him i told ) He loved it

Maybe we'll do small gifts (I just love getting teddybears!) and order sushi in. We've been talking about getting a bottle of saki and ordering a ton of sushi sometime and just chilling at the apt. That might be nice, and we could have fun time at home.

I was going to get him a Tempurpedic pillow (he's been crying about wanting one for almost as long as I've known him), but last weekend on a whim he bought one. But it's probably for the better - I'm going to try to convince him that we shouldn't spend a lot on gifts, just small tokens and dinner (and, if he's learned anything about me, flowers, too). Our anniversary is in March, his birthday is 5 days later and I just spend a gazillion dollars on his wedding ring, so I'd like to keep this holiday mellow and snack filled. I'd happilly not spend a lot an just bake.

I don't know if your FH is a slipper person, but they also have Tempurpedic slippers that are awesome. I have the pillow and it's great. I want slippers now.

Nothing special this year. We will probably just go to dinner at our favorite restaurant.

Not much - we just had the holidays, our wedding and his birthday. We're just going to spend the night together!

We are buying an arm chair that we both want for the new house (which we aren't even in yet, but might as well compile some furniture now!) It is backordered anyway for over a month - hopefully we will be in the house by the time we get it!

Last year we did a quiet candle lit dinner, and FH cooked. Honestly, it was the best! We might order in this Valentine's Day especially since its on a Tuesday night and I have school ... as far as gifts go...I dont remember the last time we exchanged Valentine's Day gifts...I think that it is such an overcommercialized holiday.

We made a strict rule...NO GIFTS because FH has the tendency to go way overboard with gifts. I said if he wants to get me a little box of chocolates or a teddy bear or flowers that's ok, but no jewelry or DVDs or anything like that. His christmas/hanukkah gift from me was tickets to spamalot on the weekend after valentine's day, so we're going to go out to dinner beforehand and have that be our valentine's day treat.

but SHHH..I'm crocheting him a scarf!!!!!

two years ago FH and I ordered in italain food on valentine's day and lad out a picni blanket on the living room floor and it was really a lot of fun, very romantic and very little clean up! it's a great idea!

no gifts for valentines this year. we just bought each other wedding gifts, and with the wedding so close, we'll probably just cook at home this year.

Probably no gifts this year. Or we might set a very low limit and require we 'make' something for each other. (Anyone see that Nick and Jessica episode?) All of our pennies are going in the wedding fund.
