Re: Is anyone doing mini cakes as favors ?
I like the idea... I just don't like that the guests won't have anything to remember the day by after they get hungry on the ride home! Maybe you can attach one of those nice cake knives/servers to the box with the cake in it as the 'official' favor? Actually, now that I think of it... that would be kind of cute! You can really dress it up and make it look really pretty!

The actual mini cake? Do you just go through a regular bakery? Anyone particular that specializes in it?

I saw them once... they actually look like you can do it yourself, but who wants to be baking the week of your wedding? But, the way they stored the mini cakes was in one of those plastic containers that wonton soups comes in from a Chinese restaurant... but the container is upside down so the mini cake sits on the lid of the container and it turns into a mini cake plate with the bowl as the dome. So cute!

I'm probably doing cupcake boxes. I saw a picture of it and thought it was really cute.

I was thinking of making mini swedish coffee bread and/or mini irish soda bread as favors. I think it's a fine favor as is.
