It looks too big/tall, I think I would go for something a little less tall maybe rectangle shape.

It does look like a cake. I think its cute but everyone's taste really is different. My friend did a brid cage and I didn't really like it. I want to do a mailbox and she hates the idea!

If you want an alternative idea at my friends wedding this past August they used a decorated bird cage for the card box/holder. I think I may use the same idea or something similar...it looks nice too if you decorate it with the same kind of colors as the wedding

It's a little much for my taste, but I generally go toward simple designs.
