I don't even want to know. Dumbledore dying was too much for me, so I can't imagine someone else dying! Not to mention I'm so not ready for the series to be over!!!!!!

If you read this mornings Newsday, the author stated it was 2 of the three main characters to include Harry, Hermione and Ron - she didn't go into specific details except to state that she wrote this last nook's ending 7 years ago, only made a few changes and due to the changes 2 of the above characters die, but she won't say which ones.

I think it's going to be McGonagall and Hagrid.

They're main characters and she was saying something about it had to happen as they were dealing with pure evil. So it'll be 2 extra good guys that have to die. Any combo of harry, hermoine and ron would be too obvious... i think.

I can't imagine Harry dying - after reading all these books of him fighting voldemort - to have him die in the end would be utterly disappointing.

She's concerned about the pressure to write more books after the 7th is released, so unfortunately I think Harry has to go. And from what I can gather in the prophecy I think Harry has to die in order to truly get rid of Voldemort once and for all. Remember the horcruxes? I think one of them is in Harry, when Voldemort transferred some of his powers to him on that fateful night when he was a baby.

As for the 2nd character I have no idea, but I have a feeling maybe Neville...

Or maybe it's someone close to him,and he dies avenging their death. I'm just stuck on Harry being one, b/c it's the only way to completly end the stories

OMG...liza...too funny. i've never read the books but i've seen some of the movies....my kid sister is/was really into them. i know i was thrilled, even if i didn't care for the series, that she was reading a book! maybe it will all be hype? haha...she's doing PR for book characters...what a smart woman!!!

Doubt it will be Harry. Have to remember this is supposed to be a 'kids' book. And as much as I think it would be great to see Harry die (as weird as that sounds), I think it really would be utterly devastating to too many children and I don't think she would do it.
