SWR: When You're A BM - Bridal Shower Idea

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of this, but I just heard this yesterday. I'm a BM in a friend's wedding and as part of her gifts we're buying her Thank You Cards and addressing and stamping them beforehand, so all she has to do is fill out the card. Everything else is done. I just thought that was such a great idea, and wanted to share.

Edit - We, the bridesmaids, are the ones addressing the envelopes, not the guests at the party.

If its the bridal party only who's filling out the addresses to give the bride, i think its ok... but I heard of bridal parties giving envelopes to guests to fill out their own addresses for the TY's, and imho i think thats way tacky... the least the bride can do is say thank you, ya know

It is the bridal party only who's filling out the addresses to give the bride. You're right, I think the other way it tacky!

When I planned my sister's bridal shower, I did this. I also put all the envelopes in a bowl and did a 'raffle' the name my sister pulled out won a prize. I had read about that on some website and thought it was a cute idea. My sister definately appreciated it. Since she was an OOT bride, she was able to write all her TY's at the airport waiting for her flight home. All she had to do when she landed was drop them in the mail (I also stamped them)

I did this for my cousin, I was her MOH, so I got thank yous to match the invites, adressed them, stamped them and got her some return address labels with a wedding cake on them, I also included a pen and some hand lotion b/c your hands get very dry when you are writing and stuffing envelopes.

They did that at a cousin's shower, I thought it was horrible!!!

I don't think that's tacky at all....The bride is still writing the thank you cards themselves, it just makes it easier for her to send them out. As all of you know, planning the wedding is difficult enough!! If the bridal party can save the bride a little time, even better!! Good luck...

That is a GREAT idea I love that....Very helpful!
(I probably would like it better if my bridal party wrote out the addresses ~ I might feel funny if everyone wrote out there own address)
