feeling a little lost in this planning process, whats next?

I have 8 months left and all I have booked is the reception hall, the church, and photographer. And I ordered my dress. What would be next? The DJ and bridesmaids dresses? I am so scared I am not gonna have everything prepared in time.....Should I start searching for my veil and shoes or can that wait until I have my first fitting?

Well...I am still new at this myself but I would definitely do your DJ, flowers and limos since they can book up. As far as the accesories to your dress...I am sot sure b/c I don't have mine yet so I am sure I will be asking the same questions when I do. Good Luck! Don't worry you will get it all done...

I would definitely start working on getting your music and limos too, if your using them. You should also start looking at BM dresses and making a decision.

I agree that DJ/Band, flowers and limos should be your next step. You really want to get those booked as soon as you can. As far as your accessories, don't feel rushed to get them. If you see something that you love, buy it, but you really don't need them until your first fitting.

I agree, i still have over a year until my wedding. We went to book the DJ and photographer a month ago, and they both had weddings booked for 07 already. I was shocked.

I would def. search for flowers, DJ, limo, videographer (if you plan on having one) Minor things like veil and shoes can def. wait! Look for your favors too. Good luck!!!

I would def get on top of those bridemaid dresses. those bridal salons are always screwing something up. and start looking into a j. they tend to book quick too. what about a florist? and have u found invites yet.. not ordered just picked?

Just do one thing at a time. Read some reviews and make appointments to speak to some vendors. Focus on one thing at a time. We are doing one thing a month. The only big vendor we have left is limo's and I think we might be booking that this week.

Definitely look into the video and DJ first. I think they tend to book up quickly.

yeah, i would order the bm dresses right away
and when you are not busy doing that, make calls to the vendors you want to work with.
Try to jot down 2-3 vendors you want to meet and make phone calls! you can get all the info you need on this site! its better to research here than go blindly into the night- there are soooo many vendors out there, that it will send you into a tail spin!

dj: - i didnt meet with many djs so i cant suggest anyone, but we are using Bravura

the best way to get a nice number of referrals is to create a new thread and request dj.. flower suggestions
otherwise, another great way is to type in flowers or dj in the search box ( right next to the quick navigation box) and you will see old threads and posts of flower vendors or whatever subject matter you typed in..

its a great research tool! hth!
