BAD day....long but I need to vent

I had to go to Payless on my lunch break to get some black shoes for my new job, that I start tonight...and as I was leaving some guy pulled out of a parking space into my car !!!!! I didn't think the damage was that bad, but I called the insurance company right away and they had someone come appraise it. $815!!!!! The other guys company will pay for it, but I have to lay out the money first and get reimbursed...Like I have $800 laying around. I have the worst luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that! As if saving for your wedding wasnt a worry already. All I can say and I know this isnt too reassuring but at least you werent in the car. You're safe

Why do you have to lay out the money? you should be able to take it to a garage, get an estimate and the insurance company will either send you the check or the mechanic. Or the insurance company will ask you to take it to a mechanic they use and pay them directly.

I agree, you shouldn't have to pay at all. Have them send the check directly to the mechanic.

UGH!!!!! what a pain in the a$$!!!!!!!!!!! Theres always a bright side to a bad story though, thank god youre OK!!!!! But yea thats totally a downer

Yes exactly he will pay for it! Just ask someone to help you out if you cant afford it..and then promise to pay them back..which you will because the money is guarteed to come back to you

Sorry to hear that this happened to you...don't lay out a penny. The insurance should definitely cover it, when my car was hit by another, my insurance covered it (I had to pay the deductible) and then I got my deductible back from the other guy's insurance company.
