Fall Wedding tux pictures and other questions

I was wondering what the tux looked like for all of you fall brides. My FMIL thinks that men still wear the old school bow tie and cumberbun (sp).

I like the tie and vest look.

Did anyone do this? Did the tie match the BMs' dresses?


Please post pics.

I have no idea what they guys should look like.

My dress is in ivory and the BMs dresses are in Cinnamon.

Does the usher wear a tux too? Groom's father?

i had a late spring wedding, but we did vest and tie.
DH, both fathers and all the gms wore tuxes
(and yes, the gms are wearing purple shirts!)
the bms wore black dresses

Is the groom and BM supposed to look different from the other groomsmen>

What did the dad's wear?

the groom should be different from all the other men. (the top pic is DH and the bottom pic is my parents)
all the gms, including the BM, wore the same thing. the only difference was that the BM had 2 flowers in his bout.
btw- the guy in the bottom pic was my MOH (man of honor) he and the BM both had the 2 flowers.

the fathers had the offwhite shirt and black ties and black vests.
DH had the off white shirt and champagne vest and tie
i had a diamond white dress, so i brought a swatch with me to the tux store to make sure the 'whites' would go well with my dress.
you dont want DH to wear a stark white shirt if your dress isnt stark white. it will make your dress look dirty.

how did i get them to wear purple?
purple is my favorite color. originally, we told the guys to just wear dark suits (b/c we didnt want anyone spending too much $$) but they decided they wanted to wear matching tuxes.
so when DH and i went to the tux store, i saw that shirt acombo on a maniquin and the sales person said it looked good and DH tried it on and said it wasnt too 'un-manly'
(he used a different term, but it might offend people so i wont write it)
