If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

We had 3 no shows the day of our wedding. One of them was my brother's friend & his wife. They responded yes and never showed. They never mentioned anything to my brother since the wedding and my brother felt it wasn't important enough to him to bring it up. (I don't get it, they are 45 yrs old, not 16) The other no show was my uncle who is elderly and suffers from Social Anxiety Disorder. He did send us a card w/$50.

DH's Aunt & Uncle, called because his uncle was sick and they sent a check. The other was FIL's business partner. He called FIL, but never called us or even sent a card.

Patty, you can certainly understand about your uncle being ill, but what about FIL's business partner, did he at least give FIL an excuse?

Not really! Out of the no shows who never conhtacted us were 1) our neighbor- You can tell he was avoiding us, but when we finally ran into him I confronted him and he said he was sick- BULLSH*T!!! 2) DH's cousins who never personally contacted us but had other family members inform us (they've still never contacted us themselves) 3) 2 of DH's friends (still haven't heard from them, and I;ll be damned if we're going to contact them 1st)

I totally understand about his aunt & uncle and we are going to visit them when we get our proofs so they can see what they missed. As for FIL's business partner, he said that his car broke down.

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

Yes

One was a friend of DH's from work. After we got home from our honemoon he asked her what the hell happened & she had some stupid story

One was the wife of one of DHs friends, but she's totally excused because she had a baby like a week before our wedding.

The other couple nobody has heard from. They were friends of my FIL that he insisted we invite. How freakin' rude!

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

we had 5 no shows... The guests are long time family friends I've known my whole life. We were pissed, but my mom was the most pissed. She even had a hard time enjoying the reception because she knew they weren't there and was soooooooo ticked off, especially knowing how much $ DH and I were paying for their no show a$$es. We've heard from one couple who apologized but didn't give an excuse or a gift. The other 3 - a mother and her 2 daughters - haven't contacted us.
RUDE and INCONSIDERATE!

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

my cousin..... he emailed saying why he wasn't coming (the night before), but I have heard nothing since.

I'm fairly irritated since his family didn't return the RSVP card (I emailed 6 weeks after the deadline, since the final headcount was due soon), he only RSVP'ed for himself in response to that email (his family just moved to WI.... I understand its difficult to bring the kids, but I was pretty offended that the excuse was 'my wife doesn't want to take them out of school for a couple days')

they also never commented on the shower invitation sent to them....

I never received a gift or card for either the shower or the wedding....

this is supposed to be pretty close family

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

I don't know if you would call this no shows but getting a call a day before the wedding saying 10 of my mom's cousins (3 sisters and families who all were sent separate invites) aren't coming when they originally were the first ones to send back the RSVP with a big yes. They gave some lame excuse. That pissed me off and to top it off they sent in cheap check of $200 total for all. I had to redo the seating chart ASAP to give to the hall.

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

the only no-shows we had were two 'and guests' because DH's sister and my friend couldn't find anyone to bring. DH's sister i kind of understand b/c she is immature and irresponsible but my friend, who was invited 'and guest' was told he didn't HAVE to bring anyone, but insisted that he would... and showed up alone. lovely. i still haven't heard from him. (and yes, his gift was for one, not two).

Re: If you had no shows the day of your wedding have you heard from them since?

one of my no shows was a former co-worker who i didnt get an rsvp from, i call her she says 'i never got the invite' but said she would come, so i sent another invite, she rsvps yes then doesnt show but the rest of the co workers did. i'm like where is she?? never heard from her, no gift.

one couple who are dh's friends called the hall the day of to leave a msg they couldnt attend, never heard from them, no gift.

another couple dh's good friend from childhood had to cancel that week because of work, which is fine we understood, but also no gift.
