I've been so swamped with end-of-the-school-year things, my sister's baby shower, and my parents visiting from Florida this week, that I sorta put wedding planning on hold. What's really bad is when people at work and friends have asked, "so, how's wedding planning going?" and I've almost answered, "it's on hold." That wouldn't have sounded right!!!


Anyway, I did manage to check a few things off of my list:

FH's mom recently got her dress.
My mom got her dress this past week here in NY.
My mom and I went today to Tri-County and I bought hair pins and ordered my veil at Barrons.

Thanks to all who recommended Barrons! I looked through yards of lace samples and was able to choose exactly what I wanted and have it custom-made! It should be ready in the middle of August. It will be 2 tiers with a variation of the same thin lace trim on each tier to create a scalloped edging. I didn't want a tiara, so I got 5 crystal/rhinestone hairpins in a star-flower shape that match the crystals on my dress. I brought close-up pics of my dress and we matched the lace that way.

I'm just waiting for this Thursday, June 26th, sometime after 12pm, when we're allowed to leave after we dismiss the kids on the last day of school.........and then........... school's out for summer!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then it's WEDDING PLANNING CRUNCH TIME!!!!!!!!!!! So much to do!!!!

congrats on getting so much done!!!

i too have actually ANSWERED 'oh its onhold for now' and i get scared faces.. but then i have to say no no .. bc im busy.. not bc its ON hold..

i kno my showere is ACTIVLY being planned.. and ikno the BM are talking to my mom!!! SOOOOO exciting!

i have to get my tush in gear and just buy the BP gifts for the girls... i just HAVE to do it already...

Tomorrow is my 5 month mark- where is the time going- seemed like just yesterday I have a year- invites are here and I am going over final guest list next week with fmil and my mom- hope to get they to be addressed by 7 of July- she will have them for a couple of weeks them put them together and out of here by end of august!!! wow it really is going fast and my list is not getting smaller I keep finding more things to add to- nite ladies chat with you all tomorrow!!!!

I was plannin on DIYing the invites, but I stressing too much about them, so we may just order them. We went to Blu Tulip yesterday and looked through a bunch of books and found a couple we like, and some are actually cheaper than if we DIYed! I hope to order those soon!!! .

Oh and KIm!! I saw your invites in a book. They look even prettier close up!

I'm finally looking into finalizing hair and make-up, and I'm realizing that it's going to be WAY more than I ever expected...I want to get my hair done by my regular hairdresser at Maximus (at the Source Mall), and since I'll need to have them open 1 hour earlier than usual on a Sunday, it'll be a $100 fee plus $100 for hair (and a hair trial is also $100). Make-up is $75, but to get that done and make it back to Queens in time would mean having them open even earlier and another $100. So I may just have make-up done at my house or at a salon closer to my house...but it's till going to be a lot more $$ than I had originally budgeted.

Sorry, just needed to vent, but any suggestions or ideas you have are always appreciated.

any updates over the weekend for anyone???

we got our full dance routine for our first dance from my mom hahaha. so now we really have to practice it in full.

fmil got her dress (which im happy about)...BUT it's periwinkle oh well. i wasn't there. the lady in the store basically made her get it cuz the color was flattering (as was the dress)...but periwinkle for late nov? hehehe.

fsil got half of her outfit...she is doing a 3 piece outfit (skirt, top, jacket thing)...so she got the skirt which is a really pretty taffeta (and best of all its black so im happy).

but best of all...im halfway done with creating the boxes for my invites!!!! i only have to line the top half now and they will be done!

Glad to hear you got some things done- we did nothing!!!! and I sit here just looked at my countdown and it us 145days!!!!! OMG it is ticking way to fast now- I could not wait for it to get under 200 and now I wish I had a couple of those days back!!! LOL

but I do have a date set to drop off the invites to the calligrapher and get that done next week, oh well we just have to keep going as much as we can I guess.

we hae been talking about going out and picking our rings but everytime we get close something comes up now this weekend we are having a house full of people coming up sooo there goes this weekend.
