Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
So every wedding I've been to thus far, have had some type of entertainment. Mainly, dancers during the sit down dinners. The past 3 weddings I've been to, I've noticed there were belly dancers entertaining the crowd.
I would love to have some type of entertainment at my wedding as well, but I was told that Belly Dancers are so common now and so very cliche (sorry no offense to anyone who's having belly dancers at their wedding)
Are any of you having any type of entertainment at your wedding, and if so, what type?
I would love the entertainment, but I'm stumped as to what.

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
we are thinking of having a performer come dance with the crowd for a few minutes....for laughs....a celebrity impersonator - IF we have the extra $$ we want something interactive and something that is quick.....just a few songs....

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
I am debating it, because both myself and one of my BMs are professional Belly dancers, but I probably will not, it wont go with the theme we are trying to portray. =(I have seen some with irish dancers, tango dancers, and it adds to the atmosphere if its within your theme or something relating to you and FH, while others may think its overkill.

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
i dont think belly dancers are cliche at all. i would be very suprised (in a good way!) if i went to a wedding that had them. u could also do sword dancers, or fire dancers..any of those would be insane! entertainment is totally up to u...but imo(and nobody flame me for this please - it's just an opinion!) i think it eats up time where u & ur guests could be dancing and having a good time. If it's something quick & fun then thats cool...a friend of mine is irish & took stepdancing her whole life, so she had a team come from her school & do a routine while people we sitting & waiting for their entrees to come out. THIS WORKED! it was enough entertainment to be cool, but didnt take away from the fun she could've been having given the time she did it. anyways, hope this helped a little?? lol i had christmas carolers at my cocktail hour but i dont think that work for u considering ur date lol
good luck!

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
No dancers at ours but we are having a 3 piece jazz ensamble for the CH and a Frank Sinatra/Tony Bennett/Dean Martin type singer during the meal times.

I've NEVER been to a wedding with entertainers, and I've been to quite a few... I also had a 9 piece band and my guests were plenty entertained!

You're right about not eating up the dancer's time. However, I thought it would have been pretty cool to have them entertained while they were eating. I've seen that for the past 3 weddings I've been to, to which all had belly dancers. Perhaps maybe instead of 1 belly dancer...3??? =)

So how much would 3 belly dancers cost me for about 7-8 minutes?!?!? Are your friends available?? LOL

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
We didn't do anything extra- (except for a groomsmen doing a strip tease unexpectedly!). We did consider having a singer to stroll around, but couldn't fit it in the budget.

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
My brother had 2 entertainers at his wedding. They sing and dance while we were eating, then the did a love story where they acted it out and recited some poetry. It was nice, classy, not trashy.

Re: Are you guys having entertainment at your wedding?
Interesting. No, I've never seen any entertainment at a wedding that wasn't a live band. I've seen dancers at a bat mitzvah, but they were more to get the crowd up and moving, rather than be the focus of the guests' attention.Welcome New Vendors
