New house update

We had the inspection on Friday. Overall, it went well. We need a new roof but we expected that. We were really happy to hear that the house is structurally sound. Actually, the inspector said that it was a very well built house. The main thing is the roof and we need to fix some concrete outside. The house does need work but we consider it move in ready since it's just that things are ugly. We should be in contract this next week and hopefully close on March 15th!! Here are som pics from Friday

Outside- it's an attached Tudor- don't mind all the crap she has in the front

Some of the front porch- it's pretty big for Queens- we hope to put a cute swing and bistro set outside

More porch- you can see some of the concrete that needs to be fixed

Kitchen cabinets- I don't love them but they'll do for now. We hope to fix the kitchen up next year

FUGLY bathroom- it's tangerine and black- I HATE the colors and the horrible sponge job. We also hope to redo it next year. In the meantime, we'll paint over the sponging and make it solid white.

Unfinished basement. This is the 1st order of business- finishing the basement. We plan to put a 2nd bathroom in the back corner where the pole is and close off the oil tank

Backyard- John is happy that he doesn't happy that he doesn't have to mow anymore.

Hollie, the house is adorable and it has soooo much potential! Space-wise for a MV house it is great! Nice size basement, nice front yard and backyard! I'm so happy for you! Good luck with everything else!

Thanks everyone! We're now getting estimates from roofers to see how much it will cost for the roof.

I'm so glad the inspection went well and I love all the pics!!!!

Don't worry, once you get rid of the seller's stuff and move in and start making changes it will be 'home' in no time!!!

Congrats Hollie!!!!!!! I cant wait to see the after pics. The previous owner really took 'Sponging' to a whole new level in that pic of the bathroom!

The house has lots of potential & looks so cozy!
