Re: Gown question???
Oh lord yes, my sister/MOH really didn't like the BM dress I chose. So I let her have something similar. And then I decided to do the one she liked better for the whole Bridal Party. It was frustrating and upsetting at the time but I think it worked out for the best.

Re: Gown question???
LOL it was so difficult to find a dress because my mother and I had different images in our minds of what a dress should be. I let myself get talked into one that wasn't really my style because she was all teary-eyed when she saw me in it, then I woke up in the middle of the night having hot flashes and ended up cancelling it the next day! I found the dress I always dreamed of now though and even though I know its not exactly her style, I couldn't be happier! All this wedding stuff is so hard because so many different people have expectations and you want to make everyone happy but in the end I guess all that matters is that you have the day that you always envisioned.

EXACTLY and please try to remember that! It's one thing if your mom/sis don't like the dress they have to wear, but it's a total another thing if they don't like your dress. You have to feel like a princess on your wedding day! I am sure you look stunning!!

Re: Gown question???
You have to go with what you love - it is your day that day....my moms opinion means a lot to me but we have different tastes.... you have to definitley go with what you love - she doesnt have to love it but at least think you look nice in it and the dress is nice.... when i put my dress on thats when my mom loved it....

my mom pretty much dislikes anything that i really like... surprisingly, she wants me to look like queen slutt for the day and i still wanna be sexy but in a classy way... she doesnt get the whole class part... you should see the MOB gowns she's been picking out for herself
so im convinced that i will end up getting something she wont totally like but im not gonna change what i love b/c of her opinion... its not her day and some moms tend to forget that

i just wanted to tell you that i went through something VERY similar. my mother broke down into hysterics when she saw me in this one demetrios gown, which was NOTHING like what i expected my gown to be. i admit, it was very pretty, i looked nice, and it would have fit well with our 'vineyard wedding', but i really didn't love it at all. i was ready to order it because she was pressuring me, telling me how beautiful i looked and that i was crazy not to think it was the 'one'. i'm so glad i didn't. in hindsight, if i would have ordered that dress, i'd regret it so much now. i think my mother is starting to come around more to my style, but she still has her own and makes it abundantly clear with the photos of dresses she sends me every day!!

Re: Gown question???
My mom had an idea of what she would of liked me to get but I hated it. I felt it did nothing for me. I tried 18 dresses and it took my mom a while to be sold on the dress me and everyone else loved. So what I did was try on the dresses she liked to make her happy and then I put on the dress I loved back on and that was it my mom loved it also. She really loves the dress now.
