DIY flowers...update!
I am planning to do my own flowers, my plan was to make centerpieces with objects that reflected our lives, wedding location, travels, etc. My plan was to clip some flowers from a friends garden, and possibly purchase additional if needed. I am really scared it will not turn out well, and wondering if I should bail and get a florist. Anyone else have cold DIY feet?

I would do a mock before you make any def. ideas... you may come up with even more ideas as your putting it together. I am doing a TON of DIY things... and more and mroe just keep coming to mind. Play around with your creative mind and it'll come to you ... sounds verry nice though. Take pics! And def. go for it! It's always more appreciated when things are DIY! :)

progress
ok...so last night at Target I found some blue and white vases and matching pitchers on sale, we are having blue and white table cloths. If I do blue hydrangea it should look good. I am deciding between one big-ish light house on each table, or putting small lighthouses at each setting as a favor. I am leaning towards the big. Since we are outdoors....I am going to put citronella candles on each table. The venue is doing votives. And that's about it for now. Ideas? I would still like to incorporate antique boating maps somehow. Thanks ladies!

Hmm. Sometimes in places like Greenport or Port Jefferson (or any "sea front" village) you can get tea towels that are old maps of long island. You could that in the middle of the table (kind of like a runner) with the centerpiece on it.

I think that sounds great! I am seriously considering doing DIY flowers - my RH only lets you choose between 2 florists and both are $$$$$$$$ (from what I hear - haven't met with them yet). I just like DIYing anyway. I totally have cold feet too because my wedding is at the end of September and there aren't as many flowers around - I'm considering buying wholesale, doing plants, or something else all together.
