Newbie on the block July 12 2009 Wedding

Hello fellow 2009 Brides!

I am very excited about starting my wedding planning. I got engaged May 3rd and so far I have become a lay down with everything. Meaning, first vendor I meet with, I just roll over and say yes. I can't help myself.

So far I have booked:

-Jericho Terrace for reception
-David's Bridal for my gown (Completely shocked how trendy the dresses were and of actual good quality) I tried on designer dresses, including ones that cost 10k (had no intention ever spending that much) and the dress at DB's blew them all away. Complete shocker!!

International Sounds for Music (Splurged on the DJ, but I think he'll be worth it)

Melissa Sweet dresses for BM's

and now I am currently checking out photo/video.

Does anyone have any current feedback for either...

Patkin (Loving them so far)
Sherwood Triart (meeting them sept. 2)
Cassarino (meeting them sept .3rd)
F I ne Art (Meeting them sept. 3rd)

I am not a fan of traditional photos and we are on a very tight budget as well, but I do realize you get what you pay for in some cases.

As far as photographers go...I thought Patken was very expensive (JMO) but their work is very nice. I would give Thomas Paul a call. His work is amazing and if you are going for unique he really is someone to consider for your day! Good Luck!!! We're here to help

welcome! If you are on a budget than i wouldnt recommend Cassarino, and im not sure about how they are now but they used to have a bad reputation. My gf used them a while ago and they were all sorts of screwed up internally and with the photos on her day. Luckily they came out good but she waitied forever for her proofs and pics. I think there was some issue with the owner but this is when he had two stores one in Queens and on in LI, now he just has the LI location so it might be okay

Welcome and congrats!

The only photographer we looked at out of those was Cassarino, they were sooo nice there and their packages were reasonable.

We didn't end up booking with them, but two of my friends used them and their pics came out great!

Congrats! A friend of mine had quite a few complaints about Patken, and my sister was not happy with Cassarino (the picsl. came out nice but they were difficult to work with in several ways) She said she wouldn't recommend them. I considered Sherwood Triart but ended up going with Glenmar who I would suggest- they do beautiful work- not cheap but to me its worth it. My friend told me ******** wanted about 10 k!!!

I'm a newbie too and getting married at JT as well. My cousin used Sherwood Triart and the photos came out awesome! Best of luck and let me know how it goes..I need to book mine as well
