Not usually one to ask for prayers... *UPDATE*

Not usually one to ask for prayers... UPDATE

...but my family needs some right about now.

My cousin was in a horrible car accident last night. The officers who responded had originally confirmed that she was dead on the scene, but amazingly she was not. She was airlifted to a Suffolk hospital and underwent brain surgery this morning and is currently in extremely critical condition. She is in acoma and the doctors are not optimistic.

Thanks for reading. I know I can count on you girls to say a prayer that my cousin Jeanie pulls through...

*UPDATE*
Thank you girls for all of your prayers! Jeanie is still fighting and that is thanks to all of you girls who reached out to my family with your thoughts and prayers.

She is still sedated but the doctors say that she's out of the woods (knock on wood). It is no longer a life or death situation, but she will have brain damage as a result.. they just don't know how severe until she starts responding. They say that she could be in this vegetative state for several more weeks, maybe months. They don't want to start taking her off the sedation until some of her broken bones and injuries heal a bit. Basically, they don't want her to feel pain yet, bc if she does, her heart rate will rise to unsafe levels. They removed part of her skull, reattached her ear and she broke numerous bones.. both shoulder blades, her collar bone in two places, most of her ribs and she also damaged her lungs.. so the pain that she'd feel would be absolutely unbearable.

The kicker to all of this is that she would have walked away from all of this if she had her seatbelt on! All of her injuries were a result of being thrown around the car.. thank GOD the airbags deployed bc that's what kept her inside the car. Thank you all again for your support and prayers. I will def keep you girls updated!
