outter envelope

I've started to assemble my invitions and it dawned on me I need to address all these envelopes. My question is do I have find someone to use calligraphy writting, or can I print everyones address using the computer. I have pretty neat handwritting myself can I hand write them as well?

Re: outter envelope

You can either address them in your own calligraphy handwriting using a calligraphy marker from AC Moore or Michaels, hire someone to do handwritten calligraphy, or use your computer to print the addresses directly onto the envelopes.

I can't recall the exact name of the company, I think it's Inkspun..... a lot of brides have raved about the quality of their work.

If you're interested in printing the envelopes yourself on your computer, search 'computer calligraphy' or 'digital calligraphy' or 'printing outer envelopes' or a combo of those words, and you'll find a bunch of threads where brides here have helped each other, especially w/ printing envelopes.

You have to set up the dimensions of your MS Word document to fit the dimensions of your envelopes. Also, to prevent using up all your envelopes on tests and printing errors, try cutting down some regular printer paper to the dimensions of your envelopes. That will help with centering and alignment of the addresses.

I don't know how to do a 'mail merge' to import the addresses, but you can search that too b/c I know I read some threads where brides had done that successfully.

When it's time to print the envelopes, you may need to adjust either your printer settings or the settings on your computer in the print box that comes up when you're going to print...... mine was printing with smudges until another bride helped me to set my computer settings to 'heavy envelope' and that eliminated all smudges.

It's time consuming, but the results were worth it to me.

Re: outter envelope

You can do whichever you want...IMHO I think that calligraphy looks more formal and elegant on a wedding invitation though We used the computer printer to print our STD envelopes (Lucida calligraphy font) and they came out really nice!!!!

Re: outter envelope

great idea, to test out on paper the size of the envelope. I will definitely give that a try.
