We put ours in an ING savings account, but we also had to pay off some bills with some of it--not credit card debt per se, just our huge bills from that month from paying off the HM, and DH had done a 0% interest balance transfer that we paid off as well. It was about $2K that we used to pay off stuff, the rest in savings.

We put almost all of ours in a 6 month cd. Took a little for spending money on our HM, but came home with most if that.

we have some of it put away and have used some for bills and expenses.

ETA: I forgot we also took some of the cash with us to Brazil so we didn't have to worry about getting to the bank before we left.

We got a lot of gifts from our registry rather than money. 1/2 of our guests were from oot.

Can i select all? We paid off our credit card debt then paid for the honeymoon then put the rest in a cd.

not much, we got barely anything so all we did was pay my summer tuition, paid off 1 card, went to florida, and bought our bedroom furniture.

Took some cash on the HM, paid off some of Dh's CCs and the rest is in savings. we want to put it in a CD, but we're waiting to see what happens with interest rates.

We used most of it for the honeymoon. Then used the rest for some home expenses, I think it was the bedroom set. That was one thing we didn't get to pay over time.

well we decided to put ours toward our house. DH dream is to own a house, and I hate our roomates so Im ready for the new house its taking forever though we've been saving for two years and still we really dont have enough and DH dont want to take a loan.

Paid off our honeymoon, brought money with us to Europe, paid off some credit cards.

We used a little less than 1/2 to pay off credit cards and whatever little bit we borrowed to finish paying for the wedding - TOTALLY STUNK.

The rest is waiting in our savings account to grow some more for our house....

I chose 'other' because we first put it in a joint checking account, then we used it to start fixing up the kitchen, and pay for food. We will keep using it for both until it goes down to a certain amount and then we'll stop...we want to keep a certain amount in our joint checking account for a rainy day...especially in this economy

Ours is in savings right now, but it will be used as a down payment if we EVER find a house. Ugh.

We took out of a line of credit on our apt to pay for the wedding so ALL of the wedding gift $$ went to paying down the line of credit.

We did similiar, took out a loan and paying at least 1/2 back. Used some for HM and keeping a little in the account.

Every penny went into the highest interest account we could find. Our CC were paid off before we booked the wedding....We paid for our wedding ourselves up front in cash. We saved money for 6 months THEN booked the wedding, so we wouldnt feel it. We were in tears after seeing the generous gifts! Most likely we will eventually use it towards the down payment for a house....if this economy ever looks promising.

Have not touched it and don't plan on it, it is currently in the bank!

put it in a CD. locked it up for 18 months at the highest rate we found; when it matures we (might) use it toward a downpayment
