Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I don't think you should go tanning. I thought I was to light for the wedding and did beach bum spray tan..omg I can out looking horrible, and I did it 2 nights before. My D had stopped by just to drop off something and told me off, that how can I ruin our wedding, I looked horrible, how great I look in my own skin tone. I ran to the bathtub and showered it off. It all came off luckily. Not sure when your planning on doing your tan but make sure it is nowhere near your wedding. I would never again in my life do such a thing!

spray tans can look funky right after they spray you - its not until you wait the 8 hours (i go at night and wait until the next morning to shower) and wash it off that you can see what it really looks like - usually they put a bronzer into the spray so they can see where it was applied - its more a of a guide for the person spraying you, the actual color doesnt happen right away - it takes some time for it to react to your skin and tan you, so right after you leave that is not how you will look once you wait a few hours and shower....i always look super duper dark when he is done - like scary - then when i shower it comes off and then underneath is nice glow....
if i were you i probably would have showered too - you should test something like that out a few times before the wedding to be sure you like it.....you should never do anything new right before the wedding - no tanning, waxing, nothing crazy right before

I have had friends that have done the spray tan the night before and they have looked awesome the following day, but OMG I scared myself when I looked in the mirror. Thank God it washed all off. My DH would have been real real upset if I would have been that color for the wedding I don't know what I was thinking...I should have taken a picture before I showered...didn't think of it then

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
You have a week and less than a day to go at least three times. Go and tell them you are getting married and want a subtle glow, but NOT a burn. They'll put you in a good bed (I'd do stand-up though) and will put you in for like 5-7 minutes TOPS for the first time. I'd go like two days later and do like 8-9 minutes and then two days after that and see if you could handle 10 minutes. That will take you to a day and a half before. Good luck!

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I am a HUGE fan of hand air brushed spray tans. I got mine the day before the wedding, and although I was darker than most people at my wedding I didn't feel it was "slap you in the face" tan nor orange. Honestly I have done Mystics in the booth and many air brushed tans and never once looked orange - tanning sprays have come a long way over the last few years.
And for those of you wondering YES it did transfer onto my dress, mostly in the underarm areas and on the inner lining of the bodice, but the salon told me the professional gown preservation companies should have no problem getting it out. In essence its just makeup

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I recommend spray tanning 2 days before hand. I went to Sunplicity in lindenhurst a few times, and the airbrush tanning came out perfect.
or,,, I know tanning is bad, but try a regular bed for 10 mins. see how it works out. if you dont burn, then go do another 10 mins 2 days later, and so on.
Just be sure to have no tan lines.... go naked (at least from the waist up)

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I am very pale. I went to a wedding 2 weeks before my own and caught the bouquet, and in their pro pictures i look like a ghost! i did one coat of the jergens lotion before my wedding and it looked very natural. i looked "tan" in my non-pro pictures and healthy in my pro pictures. didnt look unnatural or legit tan, but i looked healthy and more toned. looked so natural, but i played around in advance and knew 1 coat was natural and 2 was not on me
FM me for pictures
I'd stay away from tanning beds. so bad for your skin, my dad had a cancerous mole removed and it's just not worth it.

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I'm so glad I didn't go tanning before my wedding! I was so convinced I would, but I decided that I just wanted to look like myself, and I'm never really that tan since I'm a sunblock freak.
So you really need to do what is going to make you happy, if you will be more comfortable a little tanner then go for it - just be careful!

Re: I'm sooooo pale....w/ poll
I am like you, very very pale. In the past when I would use tanning salons, I needed to go about 10x for 10 min each time before I even noticed a bit of color. I say skip the tanning salon & go spray tanning. I used Brazil Bronze in great neck. A person sprays it on you.. tell them that you want the lightest shade possible. I got the lightest shade & it looked awesome! My skin looked great & just had a subtle color. Just do it 2 days before the wedding if you plan on doing it because some of the color will wash off in the shower.

sweety - you don't know pale until you meet me. My nickname is 'casper' and my friends joke that Dave & my baby will be born CLEAR.....
Irish, Polish & German - they don't get much whiter...
That being said....pale is HEALTHY....don't fake & bake...

Ask your make-up person and see if they think you would need it. It might just be covered with make-up...
