Question possibly TMI
This is gonna sound really weird and possibly be TMI but it's driving me nuts!Around a week ago, when I took off my bra at night, my breasts were super, super itchy - mostly in the areas where my bra was tightest. It hasn't stopped and if anything, the itchiness has gotten worse! Even when my bra is not on, like at night when I am in bed, they are super itchy! My bras are not new, and I have not washed them in a new detergent or anything. And I have a super tiny chest as it is - I know my BFF who has a large chest hates wearing bras and she gets itchy sometimes, but I don't have that excuse LOL!
I really hate to see a dermatologist about this - plus, I won't get an appt w/ him for weeks anyway. Any thoughts, girls?

Re: Question possibly TMI
You may have developed an allergy to something in the bra. Have you tried not wearing that bra for a while? I am allergic to a rubber accellerant used to make elastic and I found out because I was getting itchy around my hips / lower stomach area - where my underwear hit. (Well that and I had a patch test to test for different allergic reactions.)You can go to kohls or anywhere they sell Jockey and buy a jockey bra. Jockey does not use this accellerant (it's called mercaptobenzathiazole, or MBT for short). If you wear that bra for a week (wash it in the sink or something in between) and the itching goes away, it may very well be the problem!
Good luck hon!

You can develop an allergy to anything at any time, and it can go away just as qwuickly as it came on, too - so this may be possible ...
At the same time I found out I was allergic to the accellerant I described above, I was told I was allergic to nickel and cobalt, metals commonly used in the buttons, snaps that hold your jeans shut. I painted the backs of them all (the part that touches your skin) with clear nail polish, but after a while I forgot, and I haven't had that problem in a while. But the MBT allergy lives on ... so no stockings / knee highs unless they are jockey.

Re: Question possibly TMI
try using cetaphil cleansers and lotions, very gentle products and also try a cold compress for 3 minutes on the irritated skin then follow with a hydrocortizone cream, and try not to wear for a while...feel better!!!

DRY SKIN. Not kidding. I get it bad and the last week and half it has gotten especially bad and well on my boobies too!
When I get out of the shower -- before I am completely dry I lather up with Aveeno or Neutrogena Norweign Formula. At night when I change I lather up again. And when I say lather I mean thick and put on cotton tank and let it all soak in.
On spot that are extra horrible (especially my hands) I use aquafore or vasaline and lotion and then put socks on my hands.
I know some of it sounds crazy BUT my skin gets so dry that it cracks and bleeds so I am moisturizing freak.

Re: Question possibly TMI
That happens to me a lot when the weather gets cooler....my skin gets really dry! I would just start by using lotion before you put it on and the again when you take it off. It's the most annoying feeling but hopefully lotion will help you!

Re: Question possibly TMI
I have that problem sometimes, and it could deffinitely be b/c of the dry skin. Try lotionining up that spot and see how it goes. I hate when the bra strap even digs into you and then it gets itchy also, and then it just hurts even more. There is never TMI when it comes to boobies and a board full of women who have them

WOW -- that is a little crazy. I had never heard of that one before. But good to know about. All the things that must contain MBT that we don't even realize.
