Why can't I find a dress?!?!?!

I'm having a way harder time than I ever imagined...so far I've been to...RK, Bridal Garden, Kleinfelds, Bridal Reflections (NYC), Adrienne's, Village Bridal in Babylon and David's.

The front runner at this point is a Judd Waddell that I liked at Kleinfelds. I keep going back and forth on it because I still really don't feel like I LOVE IT and I feel like to spend almost 4k on a dress, I should LOVE LOVE it. I also didn't like my bridal attendant there so I'm kinda refusing to go back there to get it. Can I go to Kleinfeld in Brooklyn?

I'm really looking for something strapless with a slim silhouette, fluted or mermaidy bottom.

Can anyone recommend places that carry these particular styles? I really don't want to waste anyone else time OR my own and I feel ilke i need to order it before the new year.

The first attachment is the Judd I like...subsequent attachments are styles I like :)

I love the first dress, however, I am partial to Jim Hjlem as that is who makes my dress.

If you are unhappy with your bridal attendant at Kleinfeld's, call up and get another one. I can recommend mine if you like, she is awesome. If you are willing to spend the $$, there is no reason why you cant request a different attendant.

Also, there is no more Kleinfled's in Brooklyn, they moved to NYC, which is the one you went to.

It seems like you want lace. And if you are going to spend $4000 on a dress anyhow.... try Pronovias in Manhattan. They have absolutely beautiful dresses. I fell in love with every single one I tried on. I think its worth a trip. My dress is A-line but they have tons of beautiful dresses in every cut and style. www.pronovias.com

But they have dresses at the flagship store that are not on their website.

By the way my dress was less then $4000 and they don't charge for alterations. If you go in to look at the dress at Kleinfelds again in the city I would take a trip by there first.

Did you try to bridal suite in manhassat or priscilla's of boston? You could also try Bridal Suite of Centereach and Macy's.

Where did you get your Jim? I felt annoyed by my attendant because she told me 'with your budget, this is the best you're gonna do,' and wouldn't even let me try other stuff on. I just felt like they were snotty betches. Which makes me wanna give my money to someone else.

I didn't know they shut the one in Brooklyn. Wah.

And as far as Pronovias goes, I like alot of their dresses online but I tried on some at Village Bridal yesterday and they were a little too frilly for me...

Ah! I was also thinking of trying Priscilla.

I love the 3rd dress!!!! Have you tried Lillette's in Baldwin?? You should def. ask for Gerri... shes a sweetheart and shes honest!!

I love the first one- I would check pronovias - their dresses are alittle less than $4K with free alterations their laces dresses are not much cheaper but they are great quality!

By chance did you try Fantasia Bridal out in Rocky Point?? They carry just about every style dress. You should give them a call to see if they carry them. Best of luck to you.

Jasmine has a few silhouettes like that, not lace per se, but definitely mermaidy. My dress is in my album, but there's other styles too.

Try Wedding Salon of Manhasset. They have many of the gowns that Kleinfeld does..I think Rosemary and Sharmaine are the best there.

You should check out gowns by Rivini, I tried on a bunch of their mermaid/trumpet gowns and they were amazing!! Brides.com has a lot of pics, but you should really see them in person. Rivini's gowns are cut brilliantly.

Good luck! And yes you should be head over heels in love with your dress. And if your current #1 really was YOUR dress, you wouldn't be second guessing or want to keep looking.

Try James Clifford. It's the same guy who designs Jim Hjelm. My dress is by him and it's lacy and not as mermaidy but they have more styles like the one you are looking for. Bridal Reflections in Massapequa carries them.

If you go back into the city I would just go to Pronovias, nothing to loose, they treat you like a million bucks, at very least its a nice treat. I have never gotten that kind of service at a salon and I went to Bridal Reflections, Village Bridal, Kleinfelds, Saks, just to name a few. But at the Pronovias Flagship Store they have about 50 (minimally) different dresses there and I tried on all kinds, definitely not all frilly. The one I got was, but they weren't all that way.

You will, don't worry. Have you tried on different types of dresses, rather than one style? The lady made me do that and I ended up with a dress that was completely the opposite of what I wanted!

i would try carle place bridal reflections and make an appt with jackie she is the queen of lace at that store and very nice


also let them pull some dresses for you maybe you are lookign at the wrong style and u dont even know it ,,, thats what i was doing, i kept saying simple a line and then someone made me try on a full skirt and I was like oh yeah!!!!

Yes, Bridal Reflections does carre Jim Hjlem, I acutally went there with one of my bridesmaids to show her the dress after I purchased it in Kleinfelds. I can Fm you my bridal consultant and maybe she can help. There is no reason you need to feel rushed or not able to try on dresses because of the price. How do they know you are not going to fall in love with a price that is out of your range and purchase that.

I'm a Judd Waddell Bride and I LOVE the dress - you seem to have the same style as me (modern, yet lacy/vintage-looking, too.) You might just be nervous to committ but I'm sure you'll love any dress you pick!

I'd recommend trying Macy's. They have a ton of gorgeous dresses at reasonable prices. Others to try are Pronovias and Designer Loft in NYC.
