Need Help with the Small Stuff - Details, details, details

Stef I know this is your forte. However, I have accomplished all of the 'big' stuff. Dress, florist, hall, church, DJ, photo/video, favors, invitations,dress, BM dresses, limos all done.

Now the leetle stuff. I am from Texas and don't know a lot of the traditions up here and what is expected of me...i.e., 'the way it's done.' For example, Fletch and mv1003 told me that one needs to make a bathroom basket for the hall. I had no idea. Can you imagine if they hadn't told me that?

So, what am I missing? Here's what I think I have left to do:
Programs
little placecard holders (are they necessary)
hotel baskets
table number frames? Menu frames?
BM gifts (i guess little bags to put them in)
RD invitations?
RD cake? (grooms cake)
shoes
corset
hair/makeup trial
toasting flutes
guest book (I think chmpgrose gonne help me here)
pen?
do I need cocktail hour music?

Anything else?

Hi Rachel, let's see if I can help. I would call John Anthony's and see first if you need to make a bathroom basket. Some halls provide their own. I went to a wedding at Leonard's on Sunday and the basket was provided. Let's see as for everything else. Looks like your list is pretty complete.

As for the little placecard holders - NOT necessary, at the wedding I went to this weekend, NO placecard holders. It looks pretty, but you can get away with decorated the entire table, maybe some rose petals scattered or a few tealights.

table number frames? Menu frames? If you want to do this, I think that's fine. I do not think the table numbers OR the menu's need to be framed. Honestly, I don't think the menu's need to be written out at all. I DO think it's a nice touch though, just not necessary.

RD invitations? - UNLESS you have out of towners, which I'm sure you do, I don't think invites are necessary. I've NEVER been in a wedding where I received an invite for the RD dinner.

RD cake? (grooms cake) - wherever you have the dinner they should provide a cake for you and Larry to cut and enjoy! As for grooms cake, some ladies do this, but this is a Southern tradition.

do I need cocktail hour music? - I don't think it's necessary, but a nice touch. Talk with your DJ, some companies supply this.

I assumed anything you had a question mark next to you were asking for opinions. If not, I'm sorry I babbled away! Other than that, your list looks great!

LOL - I've got wedding rings already. Forgot to tell you guys that.

Gifts for readers and GM (FH handling that). What do you give readers? How about the people who bring up the gifts in a Catholic Mass?

Our readers (who are our aunts) and our godparents (who are bringing up the gifts) are each getting a picture frame and we are going to take our picture with each one of them and give it to them to put in the frame.
